**{{Not done}} We realize that there appears to be improper off-wiki canvassing, possibly from both sides of an internal RuWiki political fracas. As such, we have taken this into consideration; especially as these discussions are '''not''' a vote but <u>discussions</u>. However, the issues regarding behavior and trust that were raised sufficiently resonated among respondents, especially those not actively involved in RuWiki politics, to indicate that there is no consensus among those supplying an opinion here to allow putnik access to the global sysop toolbox at this time. It should be reiterated, however, that targeted off-wiki communications to specifically affect on-wiki processes (e.g. above and beyond friendly notices) are forbidden, and evidence indicating violation of wikimedia policies may result in actions being taken in the future to protect the projects and ensure their integrity. -- [[User:Avraham|Avi]] 15:46, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

Any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion, though only stewards may use {{yes}} or {{no}} templates.

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (other than requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, no other exceptions are allowed , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Jackie

Latest about 2 months I have been watching small wiki and as possible, revert spam links, vandalism and incorrect edits or mark pages for speedy deletion. For more effectively cross-wiki work I need this flag. Some examples such my latest edits: 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. My current flags are represented on the user page. Thanks — Jack 13:04, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • question: your edits look like an interwikibot, and apart from the few diffs you mentioned in your request, i have not seen other small wiki work. what did i miss, could you provide more evidence of your "2 months smw" please? thanks and very best, oscar 01:13, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    Yes, mostly my cross-wiki contribution is manually interwiki, but antispam/antivandalism edits I make since ~ January 2010. Automatic interwiki's bot I run only before accept bot flag on ru-wiki, a few times on ~5 projects because don't have global bot flag now. Some days ago I make SUL for my additional account for future bot and divide cross-wiki contribiton (interwiki / other). Sorry, I do not remember exactly the first edit within SWMT project activity, but think, now a few tens such edits include on deleted pages. By my logs I joined to the #cvn-sw channel since 9 jan 2010, but date of first edit during monitor I don't know, may be same or approximate. — Jack 09:02, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

    • Not done There are,unfortunately, only a few respondents here, and of those heavily involved in small-wiki work, it does not appear that there is a consensus to allow Jackie to have the global rollback maintenance tool at this time. My suggestion to Jackie would be to accept the constructive criticism and to spend a month or two more actively in small wiki work, after which the next request should sail through smoothly. Good luck and thank you for volunteering! -- Avi 14:23, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Hercule

Hello,

I'm Hercule,

My home wiki is the french Wikipedia, but I'm active on small wikis, where I do frequent patrols. I've been temporary sysop on corsican Wikibooks (rights log) and aceh Wikipedia (rights log). I'm also bureaucrat and sysop on wu Wikipedia. So I have experience on small wiki administration. I had requested the global roolback flag few times ago, but it was refused because most of my patrols consist in tagging pages for deletion, not to revert crosswiki vandalism. So I think that global sysop is the flag that suite to my SWMT activity.

I will also soon become sysop on french Wikipedia. I'm also sysop on french Wikipedia.

Regards

--Hercule 17:03, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updated :o) --Hercule 23:58, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I founded many of my ser pages completly destructed by a bot, whereas I never asked him to update my interwikis. The fact that a user decide to touch many of my user page without my authorization is not acceptable for me (It is a personnal decision to just post a link to my home wiki on non Wikipedia projets). The fact that the mistake was not corrected before I asked it is a second bad point. For this reason I said it is vandalism when I discovered it. But I don't consider that the user that make this is a vandal, and I never asked any sanctions for that (and will not request any^^). --Hercule 17:28, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • actually i tend to oppose here , it is not matter of trust, i trust, you but with little experience on adminship i really think you should get more experience before beging global sysop --Mardetanha talk 09:00, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sysop since more than 19 months. Global sysop work is more similar to my adminship experience on wu Wikipedia that the one I will have on french Wikipedia. I think. --Hercule 17:28, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Luckas Blade

Hi. I'm a global rollbacker, bureaucrat on ptwikisource and former sysop on other wikis, still have a global bot. I haven't been too active lately, but can help a lot as a global sysop; and think that my global experience is sufficient (just see my SUL page). --Lucas Nunes 01:04, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done --Jyothis 03:43, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hmm , i don't think 11 votes is enough for GS , do we have any min criteria  ? --Mardetanha talk 09:59, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
GS just says "consensus" is needed, and I think that has been achieved here. Might be worth looking into setting a minimum limit, though. –Juliancolton | Talk 18:21, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes , and "consensus" seems to be clear here but in general i have feeling global status should get more attention , i really think it worth having min criteria --Mardetanha talk 18:24, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See Talk:Global sysops#Should there be a minimum level of support together with consensus to become a global sysop? -- Avi 14:56, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Amdf

Hi. I am amdf, my home wiki is Russian. I'm active in ru-wiki and in some small wikis in languages of Russia, such as Erzya Wikipedia (myv:), Meadow Mari Wikipedia mhr: and others. I was a temporary sysop of mhr-wiki (august-november 2009), in that time there were no local admins there. I was a test administrator of Erzya Wikipedia in incubator, before it was opened, and now I am a test administrator of Hill Mari Wikipedia, see incubator:Incubator:Test-administrators. I want a global sysop account to help small wikipedias in languages of Russia. амдф 09:31, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

btw as Derhexer suggest best idea for you is temp-)sysopship --Mardetanha talk 15:07, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Question Question: Do you think advertising your candidacy for Global Sysop is a good idea? ru:Обсуждение Википедии:Проект:Малые разделы Википедии на языках России#Глобальные администраторы m:Global sysops Sukida 20:56, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This meta-project for the coordination and support for small wikis, are attracted to ru-wiki (the wiki in the languages of the peoples of Russia), based on ruwiki-user's knowlege and experience. What is wrong? Support of user:amdf - not the result of advertising, but the result of his initiative and his reputation as a partisipant of the project. This is not an advertising campaign in ru-wiki - it is rather the candidate nominated by the local "small wiki support"-project. Global sysop for putnik

Hi, I'm putnik, my home wiki is Russian Wikipedia where I'm a sysop and checkuser. I'm active on Commons where I'm sysop, and semi active on Russian Wikinews where I am sysop too. I well know wikicode, HTML, CSS and Javascript. I plan to help some wikis with tools and remove spam/test pages. — putnik 12:42, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Comment Generally, we're going to be looking for people already active in SWMT, who do the bulk-revert work and could be stretched just a little farther by simply doing more of what they're already doing. I don't think we should waste your talents on such rote work. Kylu 17:24, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a vote anyway. The number of opposes and supports is not of any interest, what we solely consider is the arguments provided, not how often they are repeated or how many people react on this obvious canvassing. --თოგო (D) 15:00, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for NuclearWarfare

Hi all, I am NuclearWarfare. I had said earlier that I wasn't planning on running for global sysop (even though I was the one that authored the proposal[2]). However, I am planning on getting involved with SWMT again, and I figure that the global sysop flag would be helpful. In addition to being a sysop on enwiki, commonswiki, and metawiki, I have been a global rollbacker since last June, and I have made just about fifteen hundred antivandalism edits since becoming active with SWMT.

I do wish to acknowledge that about a year ago, when I was relatively new to SWMT, I made some serious mistakes with the use of a temporary admin flag that I received for uncontroversial maintenance. The maintenance turned out to be not so uncontroversial, and I really should not have done it in the first place. This incident is the one that Mike.lifeguard alludes to in his comment at my request for global rollback (linked above). As such, I promise to only use these tools to combat blatant vandalism, or when specifically requested to by local administrators.

Please feel free ask me any questions you have; I will be glad to answer them. Cheers, NW (Talk) 05:28, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for JAn Dudík

Hello, I want to ask for global sysops rights. I am sysop and bureaucrate of cs.wikipedia. My international domain is mainly interwiki linking with JAnDbot. During this work I sometimes found vandalised page in some small project, but there are some locked pages with incorrect interwiki (links to irrelevant artcles or bad redirects). So I would use mainly editprotected, sometimes rollback or delete (mainteance or sure vandalism) and only in rare cases blocking. JAn Dudík 12:28, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Oppose Sorry just not sure this is the right position for you at least at the moment :/ I would have no problem with global rollback (which would give you rollback as well as the ability to at least do semi-protected pages but we've made it very clear to people that this position is anti-vandalism only and I'm just not sure your activity in that area is enough despite your great work. Sorry :( James (T C) 18:38, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Mentifisto

I would like to be more efficient at what I do; I think I'm quite active xwiki, so I'm sure I'll find the tools useful. I had 79% support in the SE, which (presumably) indicates widespread trust in the global community. I plan to be mindful and thorough with local communities, as I always try to be in normal circumstances. -- Mentifisto 21:42, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
