Applications

Below you'll find both officially supported Wikimedia Foundation and community developed mobile apps. Do note that non-official apps may be in an inactive development state and you should contact the maintainers for more info.

Legend / instructions

  • Bookmarks in the Browser app or in the device desktop are shortcuts leading to a Wikimedia URL.
  • Search integration offers the possibility to define e.g. Wikipedia as a preferred or additional target. This search engine might be part of the platform's system UI, be part or an extension of the browser, be provided by an application...
  • Share integration offers the possibility to upload content to Commons directly from the default camera app, the media player, the file manager...
  • Accounts integration offers the possibility to log-in users automatically and set some preferences from their mobile devices, enhancing the user experience when interacting with the Wikimedia sites and services.
  • Meaning of some statuses of features:
    • ?: unknown
    • X: feature not available in this platform
    • YES: feature supported out of the box
    • user: feature enabled out of the box but the user needs to configure it
    • 3rd party: feature not available out of the box but can be obtained through 3rd party software
    • pics, video, audio can be used to provide more details in Share.
