Requests and proposals Steward requests (<translate>

Permissions</translate>)

latest archive
<translate>

This page is for requests to have stewards grant or revoke administrator, bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia projects which do not have a local permissions procedure.

Old sections are archived by a bot>User:SteinsplitterBot</>|bot. Click here for a list of archives.

 • Requests for bot flags are handled at srb>SRB</>|SRB, and requests for globalg>Special:MyLanguage/Global groups</>|global permissions are handled at srgp>SRGP</>|SRGP.
 • If you are requesting adminship or bureaucratship, and your wiki has a local bureaucrat, submit your request to that user or to the relevant local request page (irp>WM:IRP#On other wikis</>|index).
 • For urgent requests, such as to combat large-scale vandalism on a small wiki, contact a steward in the <tvar

Meta-Wiki requests

Using this page

1. Place the following code at the bottom of the appropriate section below: </translate>

User name@xxproject
<translate><!--T:15-->
(your remarks)</translate> ~~~~

<translate> 2. Fill in the values:

 • domain: the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
 • user name: the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case you're requesting access for multiple bots, leave this field blank and give a list of these bots in your remarks
 • discussion: a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser").

3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.

Confirmation of identity

Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally nonpublic-data>wmf:Access to nonpublic data policy</>|require users to confirm their identity. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also stew-handbook>Steward handbook/email templates</>|submit the relevant identification to the Wikimedia Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been idn>Identification noticeboard</>|formally confirmed by the Office. </translate>

Administrator access

Steward requests/Permissions/Sysop-header

Tucoxn@fj.wikipedia

I have been carrying out local admin actions since being granted the rights. The community is not big enough to support a permanent admin. I would like to request that my admin rights be extended. Vinaka vakalevu. - ʈucoxn\talk 18:28, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

Please start a new discussion and provide us a link to it. After a week with no opposes you'll be granted the rights again for a while. Trijnsteltalk 18:38, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
I started a new discussion here, on the Fijian Wikipedia community portal. The community is extremely small and I do not expect much participation in the discussion. The delay in beginning this discussion was due to recent and ongoing travel – thanks for your patience! - ʈucoxn\talk 12:19, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

555@ptwikisource

In October 2011 I've resigned my sysop+bureaucrat flags on pt.wikisource, in an uncontroversial fashion, due to the lack of free time. The wiki don't seems to have a community (in fact I've found lots of needed changes in MediaWiki namespace and spam deletions) but anyway I've made a local announcement. Please let me known if I need to wait for seven days or if the sysop flag can be restored without this delay. Lugusto 15:03, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Time2wait.svg On hold until 13 December 2013. We do not restore userrights that have been removed regardless of the reason for the removal (except plain errors). Ruslik (talk) 18:55, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
We are now less than one hour to end 13 December on UTC time. Stewards needs any additional info? BTW If you see the s:pt:Special:Recentchanges for the past 7 days you will found only edits made by me, some IPs, some occasional users adding interwikis and one active user, Giro720, the only one active sysop on pt.ws, doing some edits, including the edit where he agrees and welcomes me back to the sysop flags Lugusto 23:16, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Done Granted for 1 year to expire on 2014-12-14. s:pt:Special:PermanentLink/247606, noting that small community, though one legacy permanent admin, so granting extended temporary rights — billinghurst sDrewth 01:20, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Lugusto 01:24, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Санюн_Вадик@mhr.wikipedia.org

I'm an administrator, provisional period has expired. Санюн Вадик (talk) 19:08, 8 December 2013 (UTC)

Please have a local discussion at this wiki asking for the continuation of admin rights. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:02, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Ronn@nl.wikipedia

(your remarks) Ronn (talk) 12:06, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Not necessary. The local bureaucrat CaAl already gave the admin rights to Ronn. I guess he was just eager to start. ;) Trijnsteltalk 12:44, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Tn4196@vec.wiktionary

I have been administrator until 8 december 2013, after the status decayed. I need a right of 6 months (waiting a bigger comunity for a permanent status election). Tn4196 (talk) 12:58, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

Please start a new discussion/election. --MF-W 16:42, 12 December 2013 (UTC)
I started a new discussion about my (and other users's) re-election, asking if there are oppositions. Now I think we can wait about a week and then we'll see. --Tn4196 (talk) 07:43, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

User Sarrus@da.wikibooks.org

Please give me back the sysop flag.
- Sarrus (ct) 12:42, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

INeverCry@commons

I gave up CU a couple months ago because of health issues. My health has improved, and so I'd like to have CU back. I don't intend to do quite as many checks as I used to, but I still see a need/use for the tools. I can't help noticing all the pattern accounts in the user creation log, and I've ran into a few old sockmasters since I returned to adminship on Commons. Thanks for your time. INeverCry 23:13, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

I think it would be good to have a crat from commons confirming that request here, means that it is conform to local policies on commons. Otherwise I see no problems to give the permission back. -Barras talk 09:25, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
I think it's OK to restore rights in this case: step down was non-controversial and time passed was not long. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:47, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
I second Eugene's comment. --Dschwen (talk) 15:52, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Okay, Yes check.svg Done then. Thanks for opining. -- Mentifisto 17:54, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Thank you. INeverCry 18:37, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Removal of access

<translate>

 • If you're requesting the removal of your own permissions, make sure you're logged in to your account. If you have multiple flags, specify which you want removed. Stewards may delay your request a short time to ensure you have time to rethink your request (see self-discussion>Talk:Steward_requests/Permissions/2011#Self_requests</>|previous discussion on 24 hour delays); the rights will not be restored by stewards once they are removed.
 • To request the removal of another user's permissions, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, a trusted user from that wiki should provide a link here to the discussion, a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion. However, as bureaucrats of some wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a crat-rem>Bureaucrat#Removing_access</>|separate list of these specific wikis.
 • See the usage>#Using this page</>|instructions above for adding new requests. Please post new requests at the bottom of the section.</translate>

Please remove users' 'crat and sysop flags as they weren't elected neither to Board nor to AuditCom at the AGM. Per paragraph 8 of the WMUA board decision #78 only current Board and AudCom members can have sysop and 'crat flags by default. --Base (talk) 18:51, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
