Category talk:User associations
A note about what to label with Category:User associations[edit]
I believe that only the main page for an association should be put into this category so as to not clutter the category or confuse people trying to read it. I have been bold and deleted subpages which have been tagged with this Category. Those subpages should be accessible from the main page of a user association. It would be okay to create a category for subpages, such as Category:User assocations' members lists or something to that effect, but they should be separate from User association main pages. I have also created a page for one User association (Wikipedians for Propriety) which was deleted, but whose subpages still remained undeleted because people besides the creator had contributed to them. I have made it direct to those subpages so that I could remove them from this category and add only the one main page. Tyciol 02:08, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Category:User associations to Category:Users migration[edit]
This category has Category:Eventualist Wikipedians, Category:Mergist Wikipedians, and Category:Structurist Wikipedians as subcategories. They do not belong there because those categories are full of users, not of other associations. Following the example of Category:Transwikist Wikipedians and Category:Metapedianist Wikipedians I am placing them under Category:Users.
For future categories of Wikimedia Users, please place them under there somehow. It is notable that some people have listed their accounts voluntarily under Users, and also that some of the Users subcategories are not about any of the associations listed under this category, but also of broader categories. If someone wants, they could collect these 5 Categories (and any future categories of users based on user associations) under some sort of Category:Users in user associations or Category:Associating users or something along those lines, which would be under the Users category and be used to make it less crowded. Unlike the subpages which I just deleted the category tags for, I changed the ones for non-english groups. This is to make it less confusing for english readers, and to make it easier to export these to the appropriate alternative language Wikimedia sites once they are prepared to the satisfaction of their creators and the editors on the other language's wiki.
