1. Are you legally allowed to submit this content?

Yes - Goto 2.

No - Try to find a legal equivalent. Goto 1.

Don't know - If you have spent a reasonable amount of time checking this out, but can't find anything to indicate, current policy seems to be to allow it, but mark it possible copyvio or similar. Copyright and similiar legal violations will always be deleted when asked, or discovered. Goto 2.

2. Is it an image, video, or sound clip, or otherwise non-textual in nature?

Yes - Submit it to Wikicommons if the content type is accepted there. Only files uploaded there can be shared by all projects.

No - Goto 3.

3. Is the text GPL source code?

Yes - Submit it to Wikisource. There is a specific place for it.

No - Goto 4.

4. Is the text a verbatim copy of a previously published work?

Yes - Goto 5.

No - Goto 6.

5. Do you intend to annotate the text?

Yes - Submit it to Wikibooks. Note that if no real progress is made on the annotation, it may be deleted. It might also be worth submitting a clean version to Wikisource for reference.

No - Submit it to Wikisource.

6. Which of the following best describes the nature of your text?

Relating to the events in New York, on September 11, 2001, but non-encyclopedic - Submit it to sep11.wikipedia.org.

Relating to the taxonomic classification of species - Submit it to Wikispecies.

Relating to the Wikimedia projects - Submit it to Meta-Wiki.

Educational children's book - Submit it to Wikijunior. Note that this project is not currently accepting new books, but working on their existing books.

Quotation - Submit it to Wikiquote.

News article - Submit it to Wikinews.

Dictionary definition - Submit it to Wiktionary.

Encyclopedia article - Submit it to Wikipedia.

Non-fiction book, How-to, FAQ - Submit it to Wikibooks.

Other - Ask in b:Wikibooks:Staff lounge to see if they think it's appropriate for Wikibooks.
