[edit] PART 4: Developer's Guide - Development, Bug Tracking, Roadmap, Known Issues, (Feature Requests)

[edit] Overview

The MediaWiki software is available under the GNU General Public License.

The code now running on Wikipedia is the "Phase III" code, now known as MediaWiki, by Lee Daniel Crocker, Brion Vibber and others. The code is available via Subversion (module phase3) or as a tarball of the latest stable version.

[edit] Obtaining Code

The MediaWiki software is developed on mediawiki.org using Subversion. The easiest way to obtain the source code is to download a snapshot from the File List page. You can also download the code directly with a Subversion client.
