Budget breakdown[edit]

I am requesting funding for myself to attend the WikiWomenCamp.

  • Travel:

Rs. 102060.00 per head for economy class round trip from BOM to EZE and back via Lufthansa Airlines

  • Accommodation:

Accommodation at a budget hotel in the city : Rs. 2500 per night x 3 nights = Rs. 7500. May possibly get decent accommodation through the camp in which case the expenses will be comparatively less.

  • Food:

Rs. 0. I'll take care of my food expenses. Also, the food would be provided at the venue.

  • Visa:

I'll take care of my Visa expenses.

  • Total:

Rs. 109560. Delay in booking the flight tickets would cause the travel expenses to be higher than that is mentioned in this application.

Proposed Participation[edit]

I've been an active Wikipedia Volunteer since November 2011. I have been a volunteer for Wikipedia Conference Mumbai and Wikipedia Mumbai Photowalk. Right now I'm a part of Glam Project in Mumbai. Participating in WikiWomenCamp would be a great opportunity to share about my experiences and also learn about experience of various others. In the recent Mumbai Meetup we discussed over an idea where we could approach NGO's which run for women to conduct academy sessions and outreach programs for them. I learned a lot when I first volunteered Wikipedia Conference Mumbai. That was my first direct connection with Wikipedia which on the other hand provoked me to participate in lot more Wikipedia activities. Participating in WikiWomenCamp would help me to be that change I wish to see.

Goal and Expected Impact[edit]

  • First of all, I'd meet a women Wikipedians and get to hear their experiences.
  • I would share about my project idea, and get a feedback.
  • I would involve my female friends in my project. I have traveled to most of states in India. I somewhat have a view of the Women there.
  • Also, culture plays a huge role. Keeping that in mind, I hope to encourage Women participation. I'm sure attending WikiWomenCamp would help me plan my ideas, rather structure them well.
  • Lastly I'll write a report which shall inspire a lot more to participate.
