Internet connection[edit]

Lila asked:

I'm still thinking on some ideas, and I have another doubt. Is it possible to fund for instance, the cost of an internet connection or an equipment required for the project proposed?

I mean, I have read in the FF portal about the restriction regarding "recurring operation expenses" ... so I don't know is examples above are within this kind of costs...

WMF Answer: Funding an Internet connection for a predetermined duration, if necessary for the support of a mission-aligned project, is eligible, provided the expense can be capped at that predetermined amount -- i.e. that it does not involve a commitment to the Internet Service Provider for two years, for example. The concern about "recurring operation expenses" is more about long-term commitments such as leasing real estate, hiring people, etc. Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 22:49, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
