Accounts across subdomains[edit]

When starting an account on a different subdomain of Wikipedia, are we expected to use the same account name as on other subdomains or can we choose a different one? Thank you 2600:1014:B060:8C6:CCE5:B6FF:FE48:3807 15:25, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

see Help:Unified login, you can login to every Wikipedia language version with one account. You can use different accounts (as long as you comply with local sockpuppet policies), but you are usually expected to primarily use one global account. Johannnes89 (talk) 17:44, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Screenshot of Freifunk IPs blocked from editing wikipedia relevant?[edit]

This is part about the complex that the en:wireless community network IP used by de:Freifunk is called by the block forbidding users to edit on any Wikimedia affiliated sites (I tried Wikipedia and mediawiki) an "open proxy". According to https://www.whois.com my previously IP trying to edit on Wikipedia belongs to FreiFunk and not to "Core-Backbone different customers" as whois calls the whole of 81.95.0.0/20. I would like to upload the screenshot of the error forbidding any Freifunk user of editing Wikipedia to Mediawiki and then add that screenshot to at least the German and English article on Freifunk. Is that relevancy enough to upload the screenshot to mediawiki? I used Palemoon on Linux, and there is no Palemoon branding to be seen in the screenshot, so using a free licence for the self-made screenshot should be of no issue. (The screenshot has only one minor edit: it only shows the IP as 81.95.▓▓▓▓▓▓ to obscure my actual IP that I used due to privacy concerns.)
I read about meta:No open proxies, https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/IP_block_exempt and https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Steward_requests/Global#Requests_for_global_(un)block - but first I want to document the issue itself on Wikipedia and mediawiki before I go to meta:Steward_requests/Global# Requests_for_global_(un)block since the block is active at least since 8 February 2021 until at least 8 February 2024.
And my last question, how do I format a link e.g. https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/IP_block_exempt that it works as a valid URL like [[meta:No open proxies]] does as can be seen above? ~~---- Rava77 (talk) 10:09, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I uploaded the screenshot. For now I try to collect info about the IP addresses that should be green-lit, since I personally cannot move all around Germany to collect all the IP addresses myself. Another Wikipedia and Freifunk user from a different area of Germany confirmed that he also can not edit anything in Wikipedia or any of the sister projects when using Freifunk access. --Rava77 (talk) 17:14, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
