multi-edits -> blank page

On a Solaris 8 machine, running mediawiki, this feature does not work. Here's the problem that my users are reporting:

  • Alice clicks "Edit this page" on a page.
  • Bob clicks "Edit this page" on the same page.
  • Alice finishes her edits and clicks "Save page". The page is saved with Alice's version.
  • Bob finished his edits and clicks "Save page". The page is now blank. It does not include Alice's OR Bob's edits and any existing text is gone.

This happens even if Alice and Bob were editing different sections of the page.

Any ideas? Is this bug addressed in any release? Couldn't find a reference to it in bugzilla. Do any mediawiki developers or admins know where I can look to start troubleshooting this?

I've got the same problem here on Fedora Core 4 running on x86.
Software involved:
MediaWiki (http://wikipedia.sf.net/): 1.4.9
PHP (http://www.php.net/): 5.0.4 (apache2handler)
MySQL (http://www.mysql.com/): 4.1.11

I've got the same problem on a Solaris 8 machine as well.
