Wikimaps/Maps' clickability

It would be extremely boring and un-wiki if maps were just plain images. They need to be clickable !

This would mean to add image map capability, while removing the normal image link to its "image page."

I tend to agree with this idea--although the image page is useful info, there isnt necessarily a good reason to access that source via a click on that same image, nor is it a good reason to preclude any link editability (ie. image maps). -Stevertigo 02:20, 9 Sep 2003 (UTC)

What image source? If these maps are generated, then there is no specific source for a particular map. Nanobug 16:10, 25 Sep 2003 (UTC)
you could let php put a little 'button' on the image in one of the corners and then make that a clickable <map> link to the image page --62.251.90.73 17:09, 16 Jun 2004 (UTC)
