Mangaluru is home to many language Wikipedians, viz., Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, English and Malayalam. Hence women Wikipedians who edit all these language Wikipedias are welcome. Other language Wikipedians are also welcome.

Details of Meetup[edit]

The meetup aims to encourage more women to become Wikipedia editors and also address the difficulties and challenges faced by women while contributing to Wikipedia and editing its pages. Women Wikipedians will interact with each other. This will provide them an opportunity to learn about Wikipedia in a bias-free environment. There will be discussions about the upcoming projects to bridge the Gender Gap.

  • Presentation on Wikipedia.
  • Discussion about editing experiences and questions on Wikipedia editing.
  • Brief Introduction about Gender Gap on Wikipedia and few survey questions.
  • Need for regular meetups with more participants.
  • Next meet at Shree Ramakrsihna college, Mangaluru was suggested.
  • The existing project of adding articles about Medicinal Plants to be continued. and it has to be replicated in other language Wikipedia as well.
  • New editors sessions should be separated.
  • Next meet mid September to be planned and theme to be decided.
  • Conclusion and Group pictures.
