[edit] Edinburgh Wikimedia Meetup Number 2
[edit] Date and time: Monday 20th June (6pm - 8pm onwards)
[edit] Location: Beehive Inn 18-20 Grassmarket map
[edit] Attendees
Add your name to this list if you can make it to the second meeting. Note that people of all ages and all Wikimedia projects are welcome!
Please also invite any nearby Wikimedia people you know (or have had wiki dealings with) – spread the word!
[edit] Agenda
No doubt someone will be wearing a tee shirt or at least a badge, especially this handsome young fella.
This social is being set-up to coincide with Liam Wyatt's (Witty lama, the Wikimedia Foundation GLAM Fellow) UK trip and a meeting being arranged by Fæ (director of Wikimedia UK) to discuss possible teaming with Museums Galleries Scotland on the following day. Unfortunately Fae has had to drop out, to be replaced by Johnbod. If you have some ideas for discussion topics, please put them below.
- I suggest we have a chat about how to get the outreach:GLAM programme going across Scotland. --Fæ 16:15, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'm regularly in and out of several of Edinburgh's big libraries; I may be able to persuade a couple of librarians to come along, and I'd certainly have no problem getting a few fliers put up. I've also taken the liberty of notifying the EdLUG mailing list there will be a WMUK meeting in Edinburgh on the 20th. --Brian McNeil / talk 11:59, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- Edinburgh is two World Heritage Sites, and a UNESCO City of Literature; with Liam in attendance, and hoping to push for a number of new recruits, a run through featured image and GA criterion might be worthwhile. I note w:Edinburgh failed, twice. --Brian McNeil / talk 12:20, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
