Meta talk:Central notice requests

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

I don't see any purpose in this page. We already have plenty of pages with help, guidelines, calendar and discussion about them, this is going to confuse things even more. Nemo 13:09, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nemo, there is just a single calendar page for scheduling future and current use. The guideline, help pages are for reference, there is still no approval or discussion process for campaigns. I wanted to create a formal procedure for Meta for this several months ago, but lost track. We need a formal voting, approval process for campaign, my intention is to use that page and flesh out a procedure as we go along. I want this to be the centralized request page, guidelines and calendar, discussions will all be linked to from here. Regards. Theo10011 13:23, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Nemo. --MZMcBride 16:25, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Theo, you want a formal voting etc., but this is only your opinion (so far). And even if it happened to be policy, there's no reason why it shouldn't happen elsewhere. Nemo 08:20, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think a noticeboard or similar place to discuss CentralNotices would be good. A specific requests page is specific implementation of a voting/approval idea, which I don't think Meta-Wiki or the Wikimedia community is quite ready for. But a place to have conversations and discuss things in a more centralized/archivable format, would be nice. I suggested CentralNotice/Noticeboard or CentralNotice/Water cooler or the like. I'd like to see this page moved/redirected there and then have CentralNotice act as a portal to CentralNotice-related resources (already largely implemented by me just now). --MZMcBride 17:22, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
