This page is for requesting the creation of a user account on the Wikimedia Foundation's website (not on any other wiki). To ensure that users are already familiar with the policies of at least one Wikimedia project, only administrators either current or former, Foundation committee members, or local chapter members may apply for an account. If you are not already an administrator, please see the request for adminship page on your local wiki (this should be linked from Wikimedia projects). Creation of an account is not automatic and is subject to approval. To ensure that requests are not forged, only registered users on Meta can submit requests. Please keep this page on your watchlist and check back on your request; you may be asked for more information before a request is accepted or rejected. If you do not respond, your request may be removed. After seeing your request fulfilled, please archive your section. Thanks! We need a valid e-mail address to plug into the "create an account by e-mail" form.) the reason(s) you need an account your dated signature Please note: You do not need an account on the Foundation wiki to help with translations, and requests for accounts to translate will be denied. All translation work is done here on Meta-Wiki so that many people can collaborate and so that pages can be proofread before being published. You also should not apply for an account just to do "wikignome work" if you are not already active on Foundation wiki feedback or other Meta-/Foundation-level projects. Thank you for your interest!

Hi Aaron, I'm not sure name wise whether this username should be User:Ahalfaker. Have you always used the username User:EpochFail as a Foundation contractor, or was it previously used as a volunteer account? Your entry on that staff page was in March of this year - was that when your contract started? The Helpful One 14:05, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

I'm not particular about what username I'd use. I regularly use my User:EpochFail as a volunteer account, rarely use User:AaronH (WMF) as my staff account and only use User:Ahalfaker for office stuff. If User:Ahalfaker would be more appropriate for wikimediafoundation.org, I'm happy with that. My most recent contract started in Nov. 2011, but I've been working for the foundation in various capacities since April 2011. --EpochFail (talk) 15:06, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
