This page is for requests to have stewards grant or revoke administrator, bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia wikis which do not have a local permissions procedure. Please check the sidebar to the right to see whether your request belongs better elsewhere. Specifically, bot requests, requests for CheckUser information and global rights requests belong on their respective pages.
If you are requesting adminship or bureaucratship, and your wiki has a local bureaucrat, submit your request to that user or to the relevant local request page (index). Interface translations are done at translatewiki. Please do not request administrator access for that purpose; your request will be declined. For urgent requests, such as to combat large-scale vandalism on a small wiki, contact a steward in the #wikimedia-stewardsconnect IRC channel (web client). In emergencies only, type Other than requests to remove your own access or emergencies, please only make requests here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community. Using this page [edit]
- Place the following code at the bottom of the appropriate section below:
==== User name@xxproject ==== {{sr-request |status = <!--don't change this line--> |domain = |user name = |discussion= }} (your remarks) ~~~~ - Fill in the values:
- 'domain': the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
- 'user name': the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case you're requesting access for multiple bots, leave this field blank and give a list of these bots in your remarks
- 'discussion': a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "[[ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser]]").
- If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.
Confirmation of identity [edit]
Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally require users to confirm their identity. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also submit the relevant identification to the Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been formally confirmed by the office.
| For communities, please note that the following discussion is open for comment It is currently proposed that the RFC will be closed from the 21 May 2013 |
Requests [edit]
Administrator access [edit]
If you are requesting administrator status to translate the wiki interface, this should be done at the translatewiki.net instead (see mw:localisation). You can ask questions in the IRC channel or on the mailing list.
If you are requesting adminship to handle one-time vandalism incidents or clearing a deletion backlog, please see Vandalism reports and Steward requests/Miscellaneous.
- Stewards
- Currently-active temporary permissions are listed at /Approved temporary; please use {{Systmp}} for temporary permission. Please invite new sysops to the admin IRC channel.
- Archiving
- Requests only need remain listed below for a few days, and may afterward be removed as long as they have been copied to the subpage. Users who archive requests on that page, please check if the request was correctly added to the temporary subpage before removing it from this page.
For permanent sysopship please provide a link to the local community approval. For temporary sysopship please state for how long and for which tasks you need it, and link to a local announcement.

- It is not just a problem in one community. It is just plain vandalism. I do not think a vandal can be a sysop in any Wikimedia project. Ruslik (talk) 18:29, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- What is vandalism? This is the person much and well writes about German. And that that at it once wasn't sustained by nerves - I don't think that this basis to call him the vandal --SergeyJ (talk) 18:32, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- The same person will be awarded by ruwikimedia as the most active participant wikiversity [1]. --SergeyJ (talk) 18:36, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- The last two blocks sound like a rage quit, apparently he was not really happy and wanted to get his account locked. The first one is indeed more difficult to explain, this is plain vandalism as a retaliation for smth.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:54, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- I also say that it is emotional failure, instead of systematic occupation by vandalism just for the hell of it. It explained that it had problems in life and here it yet didn't understand - he simply took offense then. (Я и говорю, что это эмоциональный срыв, а не планамерное занятие вандализмом ради удовольствия. Он пояснял, что у него были проблемы в жизни и тут его еще не поняли - он просто обидился тогда. ) --SergeyJ (talk) 18:58, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

- I'll be honest, I'm not exactly understanding what this ruwikimedia prize is or how it is relevant to this request. From what I understand, this user has no less than an indefinite block for vandalism on ruwiki with talk page access revoked, which is obviously a concern and perhaps the user should explain the circumstances that led to the block and what it's all about. Also, could anybody kindle explain whate these two blocks that "sound like a rage quit" are? Are we talking about the last two entry on the block log on ruwiki? Snowolf How can I help? 19:05, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I was talking about the last two entries. Apparently, the user wanted to get blocked but nobody wanted to block him, so that he decided to vandalize articles so that he finally gets blocked (and succeeded). Note that I have no position or no interest of either having or not having this user as admin on ru.wv, frankly, I do not care about this project. I am just talking as someone who reads Russian and is somewhat familiar with the practices of ru.wp.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:37, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- I understand that and it is much appreciated. Yeah that really is unacceptable from administrators, especially given how recent it is and how if one ragequits by vandalism once, they might very well ragequit that way twice by using their admin tools. Let's see what explanation the user has for these disturbing events. Snowolf How can I help? 19:44, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

- I didn't want to be blocked at first. And the first blocking was not for me. My account was available to two people - it belonged to me and my roommate. The account was created not by me. I usurped it in the Russian Wikipedia and renamed an account "Alexander Hoffmann" to "Alexander Mikhalenko". The second blocking was made through my fault. I really had problems in my personal life, other users in the Russian Wikipedia began to criticize me because of small defects in my articles. Then one of administrators removed two pages in my personal space. He decided that these pages violate Wikipedia rules. Actually these pages contained information about me and my activity in Wikipedia. Many users have such subpages. It very angered me. I recognize that I arrived incorrectly and sometime I will be rehabilitated in Wikipedia. During the award ceremony which you already discussed I will publicly ask forgiveness for users. I never planned to undermine activity of projects of Wikimedia Foundation. I promise that I will never make vandal editings and I will never trade on the status of the administrator. You said that I wanted to be blocked. It partly truth. After blocking I told thanks on my personal page. I thought that I will never return back. Later more than half a year a lot of things changed. I understood that was too quick-tempered. I think that former sins which I realized shouldn't influence my wiki-career in the future (you shouldn't take the word "career" literally). There are in the Wikiversity few active users, but there are many anonymous vandals. And one administrator doesn't manage to eliminate a consequence of their vandalism. I want to help to the actual administrator. Alexander Mikhalenko (talk) 02:44, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

I'm an administrator at the Finnish Wiktionary (fi.wiktionary.org), and User:Hunsvotti was approved as administrator, 100 % support. He should be given the administrator rights (voting has ended). Our local bureaucrat is not available on short notice, so I decided to ask for the rights here and the local bureaucrat will make the rights permanent when he'll be available (I'll leave a message on his talk page ASAP). Please, ask for clarification/elaboration if necessary. --Hartz (talk) 15:25, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi. Can you please send an email and a talk page note to TJ first? We have granted in the past rights on wikis with bureaucrats if they're inactive (no problems with that) but I'd preferr if we gave him a couple of days to respond to see if our intervention is necessary. I'd propose to set this on hold for 48 hours and, if there's no action by TJ; flag the user as the vote looks valid. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 15:39, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Hey. I requested administrator privileges on is.wikisource in January and got local support from the local community. The request was closed by giving me three month temporary adminship that expired on 19 April. For the record I think should have gotten a permanent adminship but if the stewards disagree, then I would like an extension of the temporary adminship. Bjarki S (talk) 14:03, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, Bjarki S, to elaborate what Tegel said above, please put a new request on is.wikisource announcing that your temporary adminship has expired, and you now seek for permanent adminship. Then, if in a week your request has been approved by the community, come back here and put a new request again, we would be happy to grant you permanent adminship in is.wikisource. Right you, you only linked to the vote for your previous request, therefore it's not sufficient. We'll be waiting for your successful nomination soon. ✒ Bennylin 12:12, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- PS: You can quickly create a new announcement/voting in is.wikisource and link it here, or if no action is taken within the next day, your request shall be archived for now, and you can submit another request as soon as you have the nomination done. Thanks. ✒ Bennylin 12:15, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi! I have been administrator on sq.wikinews from July 3, 2011 to January 3, 2012 and from January 6 2012 to January 6 2013. Bureaucrat access [edit]
- General note
CheckUser access [edit]
To request CheckUser information, see Meta:Requests for CheckUser information. This is the place to request CheckUser access. Note that temporary CheckUser access is not permitted and the temporary status is only used by Stewards.
- Stewards
- When someone asks for CheckUser status, please check the current policy before giving the status. There is an email template to request identification from the new CU. Do not grant CU access unless the user is identified to the Foundation. Breaching these rules may be cause for removing your steward access. When you give someone CheckUser, please list them on CheckUser, ask them to subscribe to checkuser-l, email checkuser-l-owner
lists.wikimedia.org so the listadmins know the person is allowed on the mailing list, and make sure they contact an op for access to #wikimedia-privacy and #wikimedia-checkuser.
Oversight access [edit]
To request to have content oversighted, ask in #wikimedia-stewards, or, for requests regarding English Wikipedia email oversight-en-wp
wikipedia.org. This is the place to request Oversight access. Note that temporary Oversight access is not permitted and the temporary status is only used by Stewards.
- Stewards
- Do not grant Oversight access unless the user is identified to the foundation, which will be announced on the Identification noticeboard. When you give someone oversight access, list them on Oversight.
Removal of access [edit]
If you're requesting the removal of your own status, make sure you're logged in to a global account. If you have multiple flags, specify which you want removed. Stewards may delay your request a short time to ensure you have time to rethink your request; the rights will not be restored by stewards once they are removed.
To request the removal of another user's status, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. All discussion must take place on your local wiki. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, a trusted person from that wiki should provide a link here to the discussion, a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion.
In either case, copy and paste the following text into the correct section (see instructions above). Please post requests at the bottom of the section.
However, as the bureaucrats of a few wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a separate list of these specific wikis.

the user resigned from the sysop Permissions as shown on the discussion --Mohamed Ouda (talk) 17:27, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Comment As a native speaker of Arabic and a former steward, I must say that Zaxo didn't say explicitly that he resigns. He said "متقاعد" which could mean that he will take a wikibreak. I recommend rejecting this request unless Zaxo requests removal of rights himself or there was a vote on desysoping him according to the local policy. As a side note to stewards, the link that Mohamed Ouda provided is a complain about Zaxo for insulting other users on Facebook which is not directly related to his conduct on Wikipedia. --Meno25 (talk) 10:47, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Comment He Also request from me on a private message to revoke his sysop permissions --Mohamed Ouda (talk) 11:08, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Comment If you read the discussion you will find that there is consensus on removing his sysop rights, and note that although the matter happened outside Wikipedia it was about a vote on Wikipedia, and there is many witnesses --aad_Dira (talk) 15:28, 20 May 2013 (UTC).
- From what I can understand and from what Meno25 tells us, I do not see a discussion to formally revoke his administrative privileges and mere retirement is no ground for the removal of the sysop bit. Mohamed, if the user has written to you asking for the removal, please tell him to say so in this thread here so it clears everything up. I am putting this on hold pending clarifications. Our community had a discussion session on Mirzali's recent sysop practice and decided to proceed to voting. According to result of voting, Community is asking for desysop of Mirzali. For more information about Mirzali's sysop abuse, you can take a look at here.--Gomada (talk) 11:29, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Comment There is no consensus on this issue (conflict between Kurdish nationalists' users and non-Kurdish nationalist users). Takabeg (talk) 00:07, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
-
- You always do that Takabeg, you change topic as a political issue. I told you here too. This is about Mirzali's sysop abuse. He insults and blocks people. When will you tell Mirzali to stop insulting? By the way, You didnt disscuss it in our internal discussion page, coz you cant speak Zazaki, but you want to change people's mind with political propaganda here. Respect to internal decision please.--Gomada (talk) 10:17, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Comment This is a conspiracy against me made by Gomada (one of Kurdish nationalists). I'm a born Zaza. I'm active from the beginning of the project (since 2006). The allegations are taken out of concept. Just they have tried here before. -- Mirzali (talk) 08:15, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- @Mirzali, do you mean: Im admin, i can insult and block people as i want? When will you stop to blame people and accept your mistakes? There is a list of your insults here. Is Wikipedia adminship for insulting other users? (PS:Steward Quentinv57 has kindly told Mirzali to not block and insult users on April 7, but Mirzali didnt care and he kept to insulting and blocking)--Gomada (talk) 10:20, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Comment Even diq:User:Xoser (one of the administrators of Zazaki Wikipedia and known as pro-Kurdish nationalist user) said at first That voting was not supposed to be for the desysopication of Mirzali. At least the title does not ask for that. I think we should stop playing these kinds of games anymore.. However, then he cancelled it (That voting was not supposed to be for the desysopication of Mirzali. At least the title does not ask for that.) Takabeg (talk) 12:48, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
-
-
- Its clear that, you want to criminalise all users who dont think as you. Kurdish nationlist, Kurdish ethnocentrist, Pro-Kurdish nationalists etc. In each project you use same words to criminalise users. How can you blame users so easily? Or who are you to decide that?--Gomada (talk) 13:57, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
-
- PS:Takabeg has been blocked in his home wiki for 1 year. Actually he has been blocked several times. The reasons of last blocking (yesterday) Trolling, Distrubing the community and hostility. In each project he is trolling and blaming users and brings troubles to community. As he tried in Zazaki wikipedia.--Gomada (talk) 11:28, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
-
- @Takabeg - What the title says is "Abusement of Sysop-power." If he is abusing his power, there should be some consequences. In my opinion he did abuse his power and I gave a "Support" vote. This issue needs to be solved one way or another. Either Mirzali should stop abusing his power and work with users. Or he should be deprived of his sysop powers. That is my opinion. --Xoser (talk) 13:21, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- @Takabeg, you tried to desysop Xoser twice, but now you care his adminship? :) I dont think so. You just want to use his mistake. Anyway, you dont speak Zazaki but i can translate for you. When i started the request, i wrote so Pêşnîyazê mi no yo ke wa heqê Mirzali ê îdareyî destê ey ra bêrê girotene. Endî bes o! that means, My suggestion is that, Mirzali should be deprived of his sysop rights. That's enough! and users voted. If there is not a suggestion, what for was that voting? You are the only non-Zazaki speaker and you bring troubles to Zazaki wikipedia. You support Mirzali even if he insults and blocks people, just because of your political propaganda. When will you tell Mirzali to stop insulting?--Gomada (talk) 13:50, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Miscellaneous requests [edit]
Requests that don't fit in other sections belong here. Import rights can be granted on most wikis by stewards only, not bureaucrats, so the automatic list of local bureaucrats is irrelevant for this. Please gather community consensus before placing a link to the discussion here.
Note that the following types of requests belong on separate pages:
- Local or global bot status
- Other global rights, requests regarding global blocking, and requests regarding locking accounts
- URL blacklisting
- Requests for CheckUser information
- Changing your username on Meta
- Changing your username or usurping an account on a Wikimedia wiki without bureaucrats
Holger1959@hr.wikipedia [edit]
- Wiki: hr.wikipedia.org (stewardry • list 'crats • bot policy[no automatic approval] • summary)
- User: Holger1959 (talk • edits • logs • SULinfo • UserRights • CentralAuth • email)
I have a SUL account but I am not able to login at hr.wikipedia. When I try I only see the following warning in a big red box:
Pogreška u prijavi <Suradnički račun "Holger1959" je zabranjen za kreiranje. Poklapa se sa sljedećim izrazom iz crnog popisa: <code> .*[0-9]{4,}.*<newaccountonly></code>>
I don't understand all the text, but I think they want no usernames with numbers. I don't want to change my global username because of this wiki. Please help me. Holger1959 (talk) 02:15, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- This isn't the place for this request, but this issue is documented at User:Snowolf/List of wikis with weird restrictions. --Rschen7754 02:46, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you, but what can I do now? Holger1959 (talk) 03:00, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- "Requests that don't fit in other sections belong here." But if not here, where should I ask? Are stewards not able to help with local wikis? Holger1959 (talk) 21:54, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- Try messaging User:SpeedyGonsales here. --Rschen7754 21:57, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
