Requests for comment/Ban User:PauloHelene globally

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

PauloHelene [stalktoy] – [cross-wiki edits] is continuously distracting across multiple Wikimedia projects. His initial account, Paulo@kowiki, was blocked multiple times because of inserting false information repeatedly and refusing discussions, so he started to run a lot of sockpuppets/IP socks. As a result, his socks named PauloHelene, MayJune, Mkpaulo, Onyu etc. were created. (User interwiki list is shown at his enwiki user page.) He created poor grade of pages using machine translation since late 2008 on metawiki even spoiling CentralNotices, and since Summer of 2009 on strategywiki. In April 2009, He made an attempt to crack admin/b'crat's account so he and his socks were blocked on kowiki/jawiki.

He made several pages on meta which are made using machine translation so they became unreadable if great efforts aren't put to interpret what original(English) one says. Also, he ruined strategic planning projects, so Korean community had to put great time and efforts to remove his messes. Furthermore, he claims to be an ambassador about Usability project. That's incredible! I reverted this edit.

Complaints are made really many times. ko:위키백과:사랑방/2009년 제9주#메타의 Paulo의 파괴 행위, ko:위키백과:사랑방/2009년 제39주#PauloHelene 관련 문제, ko:위키백과:사랑방/2009년 제42주#PauloHelene 관련, ko:위키백과:사랑방/2009년 제47주#paulo 인가요?, [1]. Now strict measurement is required to prevent Paulo from ruining Wikimedia projects. Best regards. – Kwj2772 (msg) 18:28, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I even suspect that he speaks Korean. All his contribution is meaningless and harmful (newbies will be confused by reading the article). Previous global block request is at Steward requests/Global/2009-11#User:PauloHelene. --Klutzy 03:53, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

His bad, really bad translation of central notice had been commited on ko.wp. People started to complain at here and here. This is a disaster for Korean wiki community. --Klutzy 02:00, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This user has made not only translation problems, but also vandalisms and distruptive editings. It is really certain that he/she has damaged and spoiled many things like a disaster and he/she has made the disaster very, very long time. He/she even used sockpuppets. These are very serious problems, so User:PauloHelene should be banned. - Chugun (Talk) 05:46, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No. User:Klutzy blocked many korean wikipedian reasonless. Betalph 08:42, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Korean wikipedia is dictatorship. Many Users are blocked reasonless--Betalph 08:49, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Info. ko:User:Betalph. He is a sockpuppet. And, he is a liar. --Kys951 09:32, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
He(Batalph, also known as Unypoly) is nearly banned in ko.wp because of his harassments, vandalisms and many distruptive editings. And he has used many sockpuppetries(We didn't count it - too many) to vandal. - Chugun (Talk) 09:34, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Plus, Check the link([2]) please. --Kys951 09:35, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly assert that User:PauloHelene should be banned. He's been making improper edits all over the meta. He's been translating pages to Korean with machine translator, which is very low-quality and often, inaccurate and unreliable. Such edits are confusing new users and people who don't know that the page was machine-translated, and also, it is taking a lot of time and effort to clean up the messes that he created. His actions are undoubtedly hindering the work of Korean users. In addition, please remember that there is he NO evidence that he speaks Korean, and he even made attempts to hijack an account of Korean Wikipedia administrator. --Gapo 10:25, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

웃기는 소리 중단하세요. 그러면 다른 분이 번역하면 될일을 왜 차단하라고 합니까, 한국어 위키백과 사용자들의 선동행위에 질렸습니다. --Betalph 08:54, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have any evidence that you think that as instigation? – Kwj2772 (msg) 09:13, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Part 2

The user in question is handled by the community as follows:

  • blocked from kowiki indef (his home wiki)
  • blocked from metawiki indef

If something remarkable is missed, please add it, thanks. --Aphaia 14:26, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked indef. from strategywiki by Philippe following CheckUser evidence. --dferg ☎ talk 14:30, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion @Dferg: clarify that whether PauloHelene is globally banned, and that this was implemented via a lock. SJ talk | translate   11:39, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

PauloHelene is banned from meta per community and globally locked per request due to cross-wiki disruption as evidenced by multiple users. The lock was intended to stop the vandalism and when I performed it I didn't have any "global ban" in mind. -- Dferg ☎ talk 11:42, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully global blocking will be enabled soon to make the distinction clear, and possible for local projects to overturn if appropriate. SJ talk
