Original request[edit]

complain about Usman Shah, عثمان منصور انصاري

  • they copy templates from Urdu Wikipedia and They even do not translate into Pashto, then they link it to the Urdu Wikipedia.
  • They are using eachother's support to dictate their bureaucracy on others through the indirect support of Urdu Wikipedians .
  • They are both closely working with Urdu Wikipedia to enforce Urdu alphabets into the Pashto wikipedia just because of the pashto speakers in the Pakistan.

hope to see an action against them as well. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Afghanwrites (talk) 19:39, 24 April 2015

This original request was uncivil. However, because there is an underlying dispute that is possible to resolve, I have left this request without redacting it, while I have redacted uncivil responses. This is not approval of the incivility. However, part of the RfC will be supporting pswiki users in setting aside incivility, as indicating upset, and dealing with the roots of the upset, where possible.

This subpage will only address the Urdu issue, not user behavior. Further off-topic comments, including ad hominem argument, will be redacted. --Abd (talk) 15:33, 27 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion on ps.wiki[edit]

Comments[edit]

  • I'm a bit puzzled. The project is a Pashto language project. Pashto speakers live in various communities. Pakistani Pashto speakers will very possibly also know Urdu. ur.wikipedia is a very large project. Many templates are routinely copied to other language projects from English wikipedia. Then, as there is time, they are translated. However, I do expect ps.wiki to develop its own community and culture. As is typical for the various language Wikipedias, the goal is that content is in the target language. But it is a process to get there. The country where a user lives is irrelevant. --Abd (talk) 01:16, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Abd: (Sorry for Weak English I hope you will understand)
uncivil comment redacted, for original see diff --Abd (talk) 15:19, 27 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
... [Afghanwrites] is saying that Usman Shah and Usman Ansari are using Urdu in Pashto, So I would say that the templates copied from other WPs are 95% translated to Pashto, In the remaining 5% the Urdu or Arabic or Farsi words are used because these words are commons among Pashtuns or you can say these are borrowed by Pashto language from other Languages like Arabic,Farsi or Urdu.--UsmanKhan (talk) 06:34, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There is no language in this world which has 100% its own words ,mostly languages borrow words from other neighbor languages. For example English has borrowed many words from Greek and Latin,Urdu has borrowed many words from Arabic or Persian,Similarly Pashto has also borrowed many words from neighbor languages--UsmanKhan (talk) 06:45, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
every language borrow some scientific, philosophical, theological, geographical etc terms from other language, same as pashto borrowed from English in scientific subjects, Arabic in theological and religious terms, Farsi and Urdu in literature and poetry.
the only and one PHD of Pashto literature Professor Mujavir Ahmad Ziar writes in "یوه پښتو کره پښتو- پښتو لیکلارښود" that its allowed to borrow 25% terms from other languages in scientific, philosophical etc subjects, 25% from neology, 25% from simple words used in and 25% from ancient terms. this percentage is not final. he added that maybe sometime in scientific or philosophical subjects it will raise upto 40 or maybe 60. عثمان منصور انصاري (talk) 19:38, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
