[edit] Arguments in favour

  • &Y Support There do already exist Kurdish WikiMedia-Projects, e.g. the kurdish Wikipedia with now nearly 10.000 articles and a wiktionary with nearly 35.000 articles. So there will be a future for this new Kurdish Project. --Bangin 17:34, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Arguments against

  • Comment Out of the 10,000 articles practically almost all are stubs created in a bot like manner. There are serious problems on KU wiki on a variety of problems ranging from neutrality to copyright violations. KU.wiki doesn't have much of a matured community. Very few active editors. I feel it is far too early for this. It should be experimented on the incubator either way. -- Cat chi? 17:41, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
I'd like to add that wikinews has time constraints unlike other wikis. I do not believe there is enough of a Kurdish wikipedia community to cover world news in a systematic manner. -- Cat chi? 11:45, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Comment I thing this project won't be good. --Absar 10:41, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
This wasn't an argument against, it was just an opinion without any comment. --Bangin 14:03, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Please do not strike out other peoples comments even if you disagree with them. The closing person of this discussion is more than qualified to weight arguments. -- Cat chi? 14:18, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
  • &N Oppose No activity. --OosWesThoesBes 06:57, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
  • &N Oppose Not enough support (Red4tribe 17:06, 23 April 2008 (UTC))
  • &N Oppose Please focus first on Wikipedia, before starting spin-offs. --Jeroen 02:19, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
  • &N Oppose Per OosWesThoesBes and Red4tribe. Mikhailov Kusserow (talk) 09:20, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
  • &N Oppose As Jeroen said, the Wikipedia is too underdeveloped Rbritt518 06:22, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
  • &N Oppose Oppose--Aycan 11:52, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
  • &N Oppose As Jeroen and Rbritt518 said,they should improve their wikipedia first,to start Wikinews.--Rockermert hsm 17:35, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
  • &N Nope, Wikinewses need to be fast and I see hardly any activity to justify the creation of this Wikinews. Pmlineditor  Talk 16:57, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
