Hawaiian Wiktionary[edit]

submitted verification final decision

This language has been verified as eligible.
The language is eligible for a project, which means that the subdomain can be created once there is an active community and a localized interface, as described in the language proposal policy. You can discuss the creation of this language project on this page.

Once the criteria are met, the language committee can proceed with the approval.

If you think the criteria are met, but the project is still waiting for approval, feel free to notify the committee and ask them to consider its approval.

A committee member provided the following comment:

Please contribute to the test at incubator:Wt/haw. For LangCom: StevenJ81 (talk) 16:21, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics, recent changes). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
  • The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
  • The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:

Proposal[edit]

It will help to keep all the words alive and another way to spread our language.

Discussion[edit]

Arguments in favour[edit]

Support As follower of the Holy Bible, I am favorable at the creation of Wiktionary in Hawaiian. With 162 entries already is possible create this Wiktionary. I created entries with books of the Bible in Hawaiian, together with the templates of languages, categories with relation at the Bible and modules in Wikimedia Incubator.

Hawaiian has enough L1 and L2 speakers to create Wiktionary --Sharouser (talk) 03:35, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There is no need for more votes; it has been labeled eligible. What's needed is work in the incubator.--Prosfilaes (talk) 05:01, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Leonardo José Raimundo, I would like to inform you that you made many grammatical mistakes when creating the Hawaiian entries. You did the same thing on the Faroese Wiktionary, which I also edit. Your English also needs work. --Numberguy6 (talk) 05:54, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support I have just completed a MASSIVE amount of cleanup, as well as adding several entries, and I will continue to add more. Now we just have to translate the interface, but I don't have translator permissions. Make sure to use the correct ʻokina formatting! Use the spacing modifier letter turned comma (U+02BB), not the ASCII apostrophe or left single quotation mark. This is what is used (almost) universally on Wikipedia and Wiktionary. --Numberguy6 (talk) 03:48, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Number Guy 6, I followed the example of the site http://www.baibala.org, according Makaokalani said me in the Wiktionary in English. I am evangelizing the Hawaiians in Wikimedia Incubator, already that yet don't exist the Wiktionary Hawaiian. I am also learning Faroese. For it I created the entries with books of the Bible in Faroese.

Arguments against[edit]

Other discussion[edit]

Personal, already make five months what I voted in favour of the Wiktionary in Hawaiian and until now nobody manifested? Please, verify if exist more somebody evangelical beyond me what follow the Bible to vote in favour of the creation of this Wiktionary.

Leonardo José Raimundo (talk) 22:20, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's not about votes; it's about actual work in the Incubator.--Prosfilaes (talk) 21:06, 7 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have much experience with Lua, so I need someone who does to go through and fix all of the etymology templates and modules. --Numberguy6 (talk) 14:50, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
