You don't seem to be active on this project; accordingly I don't think you should be granted permanent sysop status. You may, however, request temporary rights to fix vandalism; see the appropriate section below. — Dan | talk 18:30, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't want permanent sysop access. I do, however, request sysop access until such time as a local community develops. We have an umbrella group to promote African language wikipedias ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AfrophoneWikis ), and we need to coordinate adminstrative aspects of these small wikipedias until they become self-functioning. Right now they are merely repositories for vandalism and a few shell pages. I am requesting something between temporary and permanent status - something that looks like permanent status, but will expire when a real permanent sysop steps up. Malangali 15:57, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

I know User:Malangali, he is one of the people I know to do well .. Please give these budding projects at least some protection against vandalism. GerardM 16:01, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Ewe Wikipedia (2)

Ah, I was just going to request adminship for the Ewe Wikipedia, but I wouldn't want to get in the way of paa kwesi above. Still, here is my request, as it probably wouldn't hurt to have two admins there. — mark 15:48, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

I request sysop access on ee.wikipedia:

I read and understand some Ewe, though I don't speak it fluently. I have cleaned up ee now and then, but there's a lot that needs to be deleted and probably also some IP's that need to be blocked so I thought it's about time as there is currently no admin there. More details can be found on the local request page. I was involved in a request for sysop status by someone else back in March 2006; see here and the archived request here. I am admin on the English and Yoruba Wikipedias. — mark 15:48, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Note 1. Paa.kwesi supports my request for adminship: If you do speak a bit of Ewe then you're going to be more useful to the Ewe project than I am. My Ewe skills are virtually non-existent. Given the movement on the Afrophonewikis front, I think it's sensible to give both of us the sysop bit so that we can get the Ewe Wikipedia started. — mark 11:35, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Note 2. Can these requests be enacted? I'm itching to empty ee:Category:Candidates_for_speedy_deletion and to get started on translating the Mediawiki interface. Thanks very much! — mark 11:35, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

English Wikipedia

Recently it was brought to the attention of the English Arbitration Committee that administrator en:User:Everyking has posted to an external site in the process of trying to determine the contents of inappropriate material, sensitive personal information, deleted from an article. Everyking looked up the deleted material using his administrator privileges, and offered to post the deleted content publicly. He stated:

I looked for you, but when you look at deleted revisions it doesn't show you the changes (or if so I don't know how to access them). I guess I could just post the full text and you could work out the differences yourself. [7]

It is already known that the user who posts at that forum under the name "everyking" is in fact User:Everyking because he has confirmed it in email to the Arbitration Committee previously. We view this as a serious misjudgment and a betrayal of the trust the community has given him in adminship. As such, the arbitration Committee requests that he be immediately desysopped. sr.wikipedia

As per recently aproved policy on Serbian Wikipedia, the current number of Bureaucrats should be reduced substantially (it is now 25[8]). The process is as follows (rough translation):

Firstly, all bureaucrats that don't wish to have that right can apply by themselves; additionally, the rights will be taken away from all users that have never used their bureaucrat rights or at least during the past 4 months. If the number of bureaucrats is still big (i.e. more than 5 or 10), inactive bureaucrats will be asked personally to "resign". Finally, if the number of bureaucrats is still big, then a voting should be held.

Since, according to the userrights[9], botstatus[10] and renameuser[11] logs, the only users that were active (bureaucrat-wise) in the past 4 months were sr:User:Dungodung, sr:User:Kaster, sr:User:Goldfinger, sr:User:Славен Косановић, sr:User:Саша.Стефановић, sr:User:Бормалагурски (who is no longer a bureaucrat/administrator) and sr:User:Јованвб, and since this (6) is an appropriate number in respect to the situation at hand, I hereby request that bureaucrat status be revoked from the following (bureaucrat-(and in some cases else)-wise) inactive users:

sr:User:Bonzo, sr:User:Djordjes, sr:User:Djus, sr:User:Domatrios, sr:User:Ivan, sr:User:JustUser, sr:User:Ninam, sr:User:PANONIAN, sr:User:Romanm, sr:User:Zorba, sr:User:Ђорђе Д. I know that this looks like a big thing, but the policy was elected and now we have to go through with it (although I am personally saddened that some users will lose their priviledges). Thanks for your patience. Also, I don't know if there needs to be someone else from the community to confirm these claims, but "call us" if there really is a problem with this. Yes, this is a rather radical solution, but it is one nonetheless. --Filip (§) 01:05, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

sr.wikipedia #2

Hello again. An administrator of ours (sr:User:Тснена) asked me to request her desysopping here. Her bureaucrat rights have been taken away recently and she feels that she no longer needs to be an administrator. To be honest, she rarely used the rights. Anyway, since she doesn't know English, she asked me to ask here for her. If you need any confirmation, please ask and I will pass it on to her (so she could write something on her user page or something). Thanks in advance --Filip (§) 20:49, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't believe any of the stewards read Serbian, so could you ask Тснена to paste some English text on her user page? Something like "I confirm that I have requested de-adminship" will do fine -- this would be very helpful. — Dan | talk 21:23, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

I am Jose77 and I humbly request for admin status on the Uyghur Wikipedia under the Uyghur Username Jose77 because there is some spam on there that needs deletion, and if it is revived by any vandal then I will re-delete it. I also wish to translate the Uyghur interface from English to Uyghur. Thanks. By the way my other account name on that Wikipedia is Billik2. Here are my Recent Contributions.

In this case I can given you temporary sysop-status. Let say 3 months. After that there are maybe other users there active so you can hold an election. Is that aceptical for you? What I do not understand is why you are using 2 accounts on the wiki and the one you like to become sysop is the one that is different form you EN -account. --Walter 10:14, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Avar Wikipedia: 30 Sept

I request sysop rights on Avar wikipedia.

Comment: Avar is my mother tongue. I live in a Avar speaking community. I've graduated from the Daghestani State University, department of Avar philology (i. e. I know the actual Avar orthography etc.). I need the admin rights to start translating the interface and to be able to face vandalism. There is no voting page at av:, because the Avar wikipedia is currently inactive. It seems to be a good idea to appoint a temporary admin and reelect him (me?) in a year or so. - monarch79 23:40, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Ok. As we did in similar cases in lack of a community, but in need to customize the interface, I suggest to give you admin rights until June 30th. Is this ok for you? --Paginazero 13:21, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Seeing the recent heavy vandalizing at av: I'd propose to give Monarch79 admin rights untill the New Year or at least untill autumn. Why: he is the only person writing Avar at av:, he is Avar phylologist, he is adequate and appears online often (every night, I presume). - Slavik IVANOV, os:'s admin.
I strongly second that, I've been trying to fight against the vandalism going on at the Avar Wikipedia, and tried to figure out how to get rid of that person. I hope, MONARCH79 will be successful. Although I do not speak Avar, I will continue to help out with interwiki links, fix wikisyntax and stuff like that. Maybe I'll learn a little Avar through that. Maybe he can summon more helpful Avars to write entries... — N-true 01:07, 24 May 2006 (CET)

Done - temporary adminship until September 30th; hoping some new Avar editors will come and a regular votation will take place to make this adminship permanent. --Paginazero 06:13, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

I request bureaucratship on nz.wikimedia. Our only Bureaucrat (and admin) left back in May; and in the past when vandals have hit help has had to be requested to fix it up. Angela has suggested that a request should be made here

Done - I've made you a sysop; I don't know that I'm comfortable having one person be the only sysop and bureaucrat for a wiki. I appreciate your willingness to help fight vandals, which you can do with sysop tools; when the wiki has assembled a community (even if it's three or four people), perhaps then you can decide on a bureaucrat. Until then, future admin requests should be directed here.
Also, I'm sorry this took so long -- I wasn't even aware that we (stewards) had control over wikimedia.org wikis. In future I should process these more quickly, since I now know how to do it. — Dan | talk 17:48, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Poke me if I'm not on the right page to ask for a username change. I'm a French user known as jd on fr.wikipedia and on www.wikimediafoundation.org (wikimedia:User:Jd). • Support his proposal is not so far from the proposed solution of user name overlapping in the coming realization of single-signon. There is no problem to moving the user name Jd to another, and for the sake of fr:Jd's active contributing, sooner or later, he will take this account on meta too. --Aphaia 11:37, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
