There's been a request for a set of WMF counsel eyes[edit]

Could someone head over to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)#Proposal_re.:_Wording_change_needed_to_stop_forbidding_copying_of_properly_licensed_free_content and comment, please?|Village Pump (policy subpage) to and comment on my Proposal re.: Wording change needed to stop forbidding copying of properly licensed free content? (and identify themselves)

This talk page's content page invites folks to come here to 'Participate in the discussion on the team's talk page'. Instead of contacting Geoff directly, I thought I'd comment here instead, as someone else may be able to handle this. --Elvey (talk) 01:42, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Elvey, I replied here. Cheers, Stephen LaPorte (WMF) (talk) 15:33, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A belated thanks! FYI: It took a lot of work, but I/we finally fixed it. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki_talk:Edittools&diff=prev&oldid=513627871 --Elvey (talk) 19:15, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Another request for a set of WMF counsel eyes[edit]

Does (somewhat explicitly) permitting and hosting paid promotional content that doesn't meet legal disclosure requirements create significant legal exposure? (was added by Elvey)

I think there are a couple of ways to approach this
  • evaluate whether en:WP:NOPAY covers the WMF's liability and is consistant with the Terms of Service prohibition against committing illegal acts on Wikipedia, or whether
    • it could be corrected by simply replacing "is strongly discouraged" with "is prohibited", or
    • a subsection could be added, similar to the subsection on German law, that would correct any problems, or whether
  • a strong policy such as the formerly proposed en:Wikipedia:Paid editing (policy) is needed

Five, really ?[edit]

The Community Advocacy team consists of five people.

I am seeing six names. Pldx1 (talk) 13:33, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. When I added Karen, I failed to notice that there was a specific number. Generalized so that's not an issue in future. :) --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 13:37, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
