Talk:India Access To Knowledge/Reports/Community Monthly Reports/Mar 2012
The magazine WikiPatrika is languishing. It is one of the most promising modes of communication for the community. Noopur had earlier considered taking this up. May we have this restarted please as one of the first initiatives under her new charter of duties? At least until there is an editor from the community willing to take it on which is not in the near future (three-four months). AshLin (talk) 14:17, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
- Good idea. WikiPatrika was found to be both informative and inspiring by a number of community members. More than happy to help. Give me a few days and I'll work out how we can do this. Need to speak to the Chapter and to community members who were involved in Patrika previously and figure it out. Hisham (talk) 06:04, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
From recent discussions on the wikimediaindia-l and RfC on the Hindi Wikipedia, it looks like the community needs support and encouragement. Requesting Shiju to try and help in any way possible. I would like to submit my own participation in and help in continuation of the Hindi Wikipedia. Prad2609 (talk) 16:10, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your point, Prad2609. Regardless of the RfC that you referenced, Hindi has been an important priority for Shiju from the start. He has been reaching out to as many community members as he can and is discussing with them initiatives they want to undertake and areas of support he can provide them for community building. It has taken longer than we had anticipated but there are some promising conversations underway.
- With regard to support and encouragement, the best way of supporting and encouraging them is to join them by editing Hindi Wikipedia! They are a passionate community with enormous potential.
