Templates for translating language names[edit]

Please see Meta:Templates for translating language names if you're interested in discussing the use of templates to translate names of languages into other languages (e.g., English in Japanese is 英語). - dcljr 07:23, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

How to credit first author?[edit]

I would like to translate some information from a page in one language to another language on another page, but don't know how to credit the first author. An example: I would like to amplify pages in English from the same topic in Spanish by translating certain information in Spanish into English, but obviously I cannot take credit for the original work, only the translation.

I have also noticed some pages in English sound machine-translated from Spanish and could read better with a little love and care. I would like to "clean up" the translation a bit but don't know how to credit the original author.

So my questions are

1. How do I credit an author in Spanish while making it clear my contribution is only a translation?

2. How can I make it clear that I am cleaning up what I think is a machine translation, e,g, not claiming authorship, only translation?

Thanks. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Amaling (talk) 02:01, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
