Talk:Meetup/Manchester 10

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Agenda?[edit]

Do we want some kind of agenda? I've only ever been to one meetup before. Maybe just a list of stuff that some people may be interested in talking about. Here is some things I might like to talk about:

  • Wikimania 2013
  • Anti-vandalism tools.
    • I particularly like WP:STiki, but I'd be interested to know what others think.

Report[edit]

Despite the dull weather and relative darkness resulting in the participants remaining in the Waterhouse, there is no doubt that the meetup was a great success. The Manchester venue is developing a core of Wikipedians who now know each other better, and the relaxed, informal atmosphere allowed us to discuss a huge range of topics. A group of ten or eleven people is in the range where lots of interesting sub-groups naturally form, while it was still possible to bring everyone together to focus on common issues like the date of the next meeting. It's always a pleasure to meet old friends and make fresh ones, so I'd like to thank everyone for an enjoyable day. We can always go and do useful things like photograph the Town Hall another time – fortunately there's no deadline. Mike took a bunch of pictures of the meetup and hopefully he'll showcase the best ones here when he gets a chance. --RexxS 14:04, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Terrific day. It was good to meet up with you and Harry again, and also great to finally meet JamesBWatson and Sitush (and, of course, all the others) Boing! said Zebedee 19:31, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Gutted I didn't make it - especially since I'll be missing Liverpool 2 too... Ah well, perhaps next time WormTT 15:37, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
