[edit] Useless redirect
Is this page supposed to be a joke or something? It redirects readers to a wiki which seems to be completely private and blocked-off - I couldn't so much as search it for 'guide' or anything. --Gwern 02:11, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
- It's a guide for OTRS volunteers on how to handle permissions e-mails. The guide used to be hosted on Meta-Wiki eons ago, but it was moved to the OTRS wiki when it was created. If you're looking for information about how to send permissions mails, see commons:Commons:Permissions. Cbrown1023 talk 05:45, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
- I strongly agree with Gwern here. Real computer security types mock the security approach they call "security through obscurity". Is the reason no manual is available for everyone to read that someone fears that vandals will find it easier to hoax the OTRS volunteers if they know, in advance the techniques or standards the volunteers follow. This is backwards. Keeping the procedures secret is less secure as they won't be exposed to peer review. Geo Swan 08:26, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
