Merger proposal[edit]

The page Steward elections needs to be merged into this page. It's a duplication of this page but there may be some differences between the lists (such as Stewards/elections 2004 being listed on the other page but not here). $agreement variable[edit]

As of now, the $agreement variable invokes the agreement's name as a link in the target language - this works for French, but it does not for Hungarian: we would have to conjugate a noun in the middle of the text to make a correct sentence, but adding an alternative name as a wikilink breaks the link itself, as it readily contains [[ and ]]. Please consider removing the link. - Xbspiro (talk) 06:08, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikitable[edit]

Should be trimmed by using Template:DateT and Template:Tunit. 05, 06, 11 election can be split into (first) and (second) and be translated from there. Keeping it here as a record so I don't forget. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 06:03, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

More precision is needed for the next elections[edit]

The statement "will finish on February 27" is too vague and does not consider the global community. It should be less ambiguous and more inclusive:

1) Depending on local usage, the phrase can be interpreted as ending on February 27th inclusive or February 27th exclusive.

2) It does not consider the 24 time zones of the globe. It is necessary to indicate which time zone is used as the primary reference for closing the election. I have seen the orange confirmation banner appear at a certain time of day that had no meaning for me.

Here, please find some suggestions for a more precise and inclusive statement:

  • "The election will close on February 27th, 2024 at 23:59 UTC."
  • "Voting will end on February 27th, 2024 at 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST).

@Bramfab Stewards/Elections 2024 says „voting begins on 06 February 2024, 14:00 (UTC) and ends on 27 February 2024, 14:00 (UTC)“, I don't think it can be more precise? Johannnes89 (talk) 09:49, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I thank you for your replay, actually I refer to this page of confirmation , where the indication is: The 2024-25 Confirmation will begin on February 6, and will finish on February 27. .--Bramfab (talk) 10:25, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On the confirmation page there is a template that now says "The 2024 steward elections are finished. No further votes will be accepted.". However, until yesterday it said "Voting is currently open for eligible voters until 27 February 2024, 14:00 (UTC)." Stryn (talk) 13:50, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
