Problem[edit]

This doesn't work properly. Due to the shuffling I never get the logo I want to vote (when clicking on edit under the logo). Please remove the shuffling or fix this problem otherwise. Thanks, XenonX3 (talk) 14:14, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you open the page in one tab and then open the edit links in another tab? --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 14:17, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, that isn't the problem. When you click an edit section link associated with an image it opens the voting section for the image *above* (in the unshuffled order). --ErrantX (talk) 14:32, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, it's because you've got this ordering: Logo 1 -> Vote section 1 heading -> Logo 2 -> Vote section 2 heading. When you click edit on the voting section 1 it also includes Logo 2 (because it is placed before the next heading). So the voting section is right, but the wrong logo appears. You could fix this by having a section heading before each logo as well :) --ErrantX (talk) 14:34, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have the same problem! Since I can't see the vote I gave, and the logos change again it gets really confusing. A header before the logo would be better :) Béria Lima msg 14:54, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I added a heading. Is this better now? --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 15:09, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure I told you to write a Selenium test for it.. ;) --Tobias Gritschacher (WMDE)

A very illogical way of presenting a panel for voting!

(1) Edit link corresponds to the picture above or below? How does one make sure it is the very picture that one intends to vote for? At the least, a horizontal line (or any other horizontal delimiters)will clearly segregate the candidates. Oh, I saw there is actually some lines and numbering now. But it still seems not so intuitive.
(2) Shuffling makes it further confusing!

I will get back here to do the actual voting when the panel is repaired. ViswaPrabha (വിശ്വപ്രഭ) (talk) 15:00, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • One suggestion: Maybe add an overview of all logo proposals in small versions at the top of the page, so one can see all the logos at one glance? The images themselves could also be made links to their voting sections then. --MF-W 15:19, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NOEDITSECTION + Subpages + {{edit|Wikidata/Logo voting/subpage1|Vote}} or [http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikidata/Logo_voting&action=edit&section=xx Vote] (xx = # of section)? Hmm, template "edit" could be better with "|section=" Przykuta (talk) 16:04, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New version up[edit]

You were right, the page was broken. We completely rebuilt it. I hope it is usable now. --Denny Vrandečić (WMDE) (talk) 17:33, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If someone still has problems, please let us know. --19:50, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Much better now! :) ViswaPrabha (വിശ്വപ്രഭ) (talk) 20:12, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Logo 34 missing[edit]

There is no link to vote for logo 34 (as it's available on User:Denny Vrandečić (WMDE)/Logo voting) here. Has this one been dismissed, or did you forget to put it here, therefore accidentally taking away the possibility to vote for it directly on Wikidata/Logo voting? --YMS (talk) 13:57, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for noticing. It wasn't on the shortlist but someone added it afterwards. It has been removed again from one page but not the other. I fixed that now. --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 14:05, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Presentation size[edit]

Why not 135 × 135 pixels like the usual wiki logo? -- Rillke (talk) 08:31, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That would make sense, I agree. --Waldir (talk) 14:43, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Me too. We don't need big image, but small, well scalable. Przykuta (talk) 10:35, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The winning logo will be finalized by a designer, brought in the right size, adapted font, if necessary, etc. --92.225.77.157 07:36, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Still, it's important for voters to have a clear idea of roughly how the logo will look in final size. There are quite disparate aesthetic principles for different image sizes, such that details that look good in a larger size could easily add more noise than information/decoration at a smaller scale. --Waldir (talk) 10:04, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IP's are voting[edit]

Hi, rules say that only users who has created an account before July 1st can vote... Then, there are some ip in the list of voters... and maybe some users with a so recent account... I think some corrections are necessary... Jmvkrecords (Intracorrespondencia) 21:33, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe here, Jens Ohlig and Jens Ohlig (WMDE) are the same person... Jmvkrecords (Intracorrespondencia) 22:11, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I will definitely go through all votes at the end and remove the IPs before making the official count that determines the winner. If someone has some easy way to check all votes for account age let me know please. --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 05:16, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
An easy way to check all votes would be to use javascript, but I think that needs to be created. An example of an egibility checker is Commons:MediaWiki:EnhancedPOTY.js (documentation), but it is not exactly what you are looking for.--Snaevar (talk) 23:53, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
