WMF numbers[edit]

glad this is getting started - excited to see it come together. fyi- numbers from the wmf end will be finalized in the next couple weeks. Jwild (talk) 23:56, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jessie. Are the WMF numbers definitely correct? The WMF has 10 board members, so I'm confused as to how 19 could have attended Wikimania? Also, 104 staff members seems very high when compared to the ~125 I thought the WMF currently has? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 20:25, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I believe "board" include some members of the advisory board. I personally more wondering about the fact that each WMF participate costs about 2142$. Israel and Italy send people from aboard with average cost of 1500-1600$. As most of the WMF staff coming from S.F, seem very high amount --Itzike (talk) 20:42, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oops - sorry for the delay here. I just sent a message to Tony who passed on the numbers to me, and he'll respond to this! Jwild (talk) 16:16, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actual cost is now $264,567 due to late expenses submission, thus average per person is $2,151. Breakout of average cost 1)$295 - Meals, transportation, incidental; 2)$701 - Airfare; 3)$1,120 - Lodging (avg 5 nights); and 4)$35 - Registration Fee. 19 includes board and advisory board members and 104 includes 17 contractors engaged from our communications team and fundraising team whose purpose was to interview and gather information for our fundraising appeals. Hope this helps but let me know if you need additional information or clarification.Tle (WMF) (talk) 23:33, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
