How is this different from Developer hub?[edit]

I think Petr wanted a developer hub that was more about tech all over Wikimedia and not so MediaWiki-specific. Seems ok. Sumanah 00:28, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No one can articulate the difference, the page URLs are indistinguishable, and two Hubs for developers is an oxymoron. Move the content and {{MovedToMediaWiki}} this. S Page (WMF) (talk)

"Improve mw:Developer hub / Wikimedia developer hub" is pretty high in my backlog. Whenever the time comes I will proceed with the merge at mw:Developer hub unless someone comes with better arguments before.--Qgil (talk) 22:34, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've discovered (and added to!) the long list of these type of pages at mw:Requests for comment/Add developer link to footer of Wikimedia wikis#Destination. Ideally all of these various pages should be considered before merges are made. I'd prefer that we use that RFC at mediawiki.org for coordination, with occasional notes to wikitech-l to keep everyone in the loop. --MZMcBride (talk) 21:37, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. There is only one similarity in these 2 pages and that is their name. Everything else is entirely different. On other hand, I have no problem with renaming existing developer hub on mediawiki, to MediaWiki developer hub and moving this Wikimedia developer hub to mediawiki as it is, but I quite fail to see an advantage of that Petrb (talk) 12:30, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Improve Developer hub / meta:Wikimedia developer hub" made it finally to my current tasks. You are right: the proper sequence of steps is to discuss and sort out mw:Developer hub first. Then we will see whether this hub here is redundant or not. I believe there is a benefit in having only one hub for software developers, honoring the word "hub", but I also understand there are more things to discuss first.--Qgil (talk) 23:33, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
