Redesign [edit]
Anyone up for a redesign of the Wikinews portal? Thunderhead 08:19, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- See www.wikinews.org template/temp for a Wikinews version of the current Wikipedia portal. --bainer (talk) 07:21, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Excellent, thank you. Thunderhead 13:20, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

hide template content [edit]
Could someone please enclose the template's contents between <noinclude> tags? Its code makes the whole template page a big mess. Thanks, --Capmo 23:41, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- That would not be appropriate. These portals are not really templates; they are raw xhtml and css become the live pages. I'm not really sure how that came to be, but <noinclude> are not part of xhtml and would appear live as plain text. It does not matter what you see when viewing the content page. Cheers, Jack Merridew 09:31, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
Alemannic Wikinews, Low German Wikinews [edit]
The Alemannic Wikinews was created within Alemannic Wikipedia, as all Alemannic projects havbe been merged in April 2008. Now it's a separate namespace within als:wp: Dialäkt-Neuigkeite (Wikinews). There is also a Low German Wikinews as separate namespace within Low German Wikipedia. --Holder 09:31, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hi! This request should be done in Wikimedia Incubator. If the project is launched, please, come here or contact me to add new Wikinews projects in Wikinews main page. Greetings, ×α£đes 00:04, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
File:Bookshelf-40x20.png [edit]
{{Editprotected}} Consider using File:Bookshelf-40x201 6.png in the template instead, it has been optimized for file size, and is already in use at www.wikipedia.org. The change has already been made to Www.wikinews.org template/temp.--Svgalbertian 11:33, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Use of former Wiktionary logo [edit]
According to this discussion, you may consider changing the former Wiktionary logo into the new one. It has already changed in http://www.wikipedia.org and http://www.wikimedia.org. Thanks in advance. — Tanvir 15:15, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Lil' update [edit]
Now, remove 'sv' and replace with 'es' ("Español"), which has now more articles than 'sv'. (sv and es). The page for "write an article" is n:es:Wikinoticias:Escribir un artículo. "Articles" in spanish is "artículos". Thanks to whoever updates it - Jurock 04:01, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'd rather see all projects that have more then 1000 articles in the circle. --Steinninn 21:36, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

- There was a little mistake that I hadn't noticed then. The link to the spanish write an article ("Escribir un artículo") has a little problem. It says: "http://es.wikinews.org/wiki/Wikinoticias:Wikinoticias:Escribir_un_art%C3%ADculo" when it should be "http://es.wikinews.org/wiki/Wikinoticias:Escribir_un_art%C3%ADculo". Done, but remember that you can't just move the items around the page. You have to edit the actual code too, look at what I did. I also suggest you add
-
-
importScript('User:Splarka/portalpreview.js');
-
-
- to your monobook.js (or whatever skin you use). It adds a tab that lets you preview the text that's in the edit box for the portals. I've found it very useful. ;-)Cbrown1023 talk 04:31, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
