Serbia [edit]

I changed Serbia and Montenegro to Serbia (forgot to log in)... according to the decision of our executive board, to present Wikimedia Serbia and Montenegro as Wikimedia Serbia, until we change our statute (because of the recent referendum in Montenegro...). -- Obradovic Goran 22:09, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

I changed the code to "CS-SR" (per ISO 3166-2), until a new ISO 3166-1 code is issued for the "new" state of Serbia. See en:ISO 3166-2:CS and en:ISO 3166-1 ("SR" is for Suriname there). (And just to be pedantic, I changed "UK" to "GB" as well.) – Kaihsu 18:50, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

User:Millosh changed Serbia's code to "SP", but this does not yet appear on the ISO 3166 maintenance agency's webpage. My guess is that "SP" will eventually get assigned to Serbia, so I won't be changing it back. Cheers. – Kaihsu 22:01, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Reverted again; not yet: see en:Serbian country codes. Cheers. – Kaihsu 14:13, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

United Kingdom [edit]

I understand that "GB" can be mnemonic for "Great Britain" (and therefore offensive to some), but it is the code in ISO 3166 for "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". "UK" is not code for anything in that standard. This is not the place to protest about such things; please direct complaints to the maintenance authority of the ISO standard. – Kaihsu 14:44, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Fixed its so that it is now UK. It would be wrong to exclude the Six Counties.Leutha (talk) 11:48, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

I don't see how the GB country code excludes Northern Ireland... --Bence (talk) 11:56, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Adding a link [edit]

Hi, this template looks very complex, and I don't see any instructions on how to edit it. Could someone please (a) write instructions or (b) directly add a link to Chapters meetings for it? thanks, pfctdayelise 06:46, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't think it looked too complex – but then again, I've been editing these kinds templates for a while and wrote it! :P I'll do (a) so that you can do (b) (then we can see if my instructions are any good).
Example:
|-
| [[{{{faq-link|Local chapter FAQ}}}|{{{faq|FAQ}}}]]
It works just like a normal link, with a special twist. For the above example (the FAQ), the page name can also be translated. To allow for this, we add a variable shown by three curly brackets, {{{variable|default}}}; example: {{{faq-link|Local chapter FAQ}}} where "faq-link" is the variable and "Local chapter FAQ" is the default value.
This all just allows it to be translated very easily and updated easily. The text for Chapters meetings (since there are no translations):
|-
| [[Chapters meetings|{{{meetings|Meetings}}}]]
Does this make sense? Cbrown1023 talk 23:42, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Mostly. Where/how is the {{{variable}}} value set? like MediaWiki:faq-link ? --pfctdayelise 00:17, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Nope, that would be {{int:faq-link}}. This just works with the template. So if you wanted to translate to German, you would copy the stuff in "To translate" and put it at Template:Chapters/de (you translate the stuff after the = signs). An example of this is the French page. Cbrown1023 talk 01:01, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh... duh!! OK, I kind of forgot this was in a template. --pfctdayelise 04:39, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Reinstalled command [edit]

I reinstalled this command: Established chapters in the model. It appears needed for another model in french language. Jeff de St-Germain 15:00, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Using original names [edit]

Detecting the original names of the other Latin writing chapters, it would be better to use this criterion in the replacement of all other names, which originally use other alphabets. I made a change, which I request to be discussed. The idea of my request also is to use the criterion in the language tier which stands as navigation box on the right side on other Meta projects. Folding list [edit]

The list of established chapters is really long. Do you agree that the list should be made collapsed by default? --NaBUru38 14:49, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Absolutely no, why should it? Nemo 20:04, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
