위키미디어 이사회는 위키미디어 재단 내에서 최고의 권위를 갖는 결정 기관입니다. 이사회의 결정은 재단의 활동에 직접 영향을 미칩니다. 재단의 정관은 위키미디어 재단 정관에서 보실 수 있습니다. 다른 정책은 정책에서 보실 수 있습니다.

재단은 컴퓨터 장비와 호스팅에 지불될 예산을 관리합니다. 다른 비용에는 위키미디어 프로젝트의 운영에 필요한 (대부분이 봉사자이지만) 인적 자원이 포함되어 있습니다. 또한 이사회 회의 기록을 보실 수도 있습니다.
