About me
From 2005 to 2014, I was mostly active on German Wikipedia.
From 2010 to 2013, I took part in Wikimedia Deutschland's outreach programme, bringing a critical point of view on Wikipedia to both the classroom and universities. Ever since, I am a co-founder of the wiki:team network of public speakers, continuing our previous work for Wikipedia in education.
From June 2012 until May 2013, I was a member of German Wikipedia's arbitration committee. From October 2012 until July 2013, I was a sysop and bureaucrat on German Wikiversity. In February 2013, I joined the German OTRS volunteers.
I used to be a regular contributor to our community's blog Wikipedia:Kurier. I still take an interest in the relationship between Wikimedia organisations and communities.
Please note that due to the introduction of a so-called superprotect right on Wikimedia platforms apt to overrule the local administrators and due to the statements by leading Wikimedia Foundation staff on a new strategy for Wikipedia in August 2014 I no longer contribute any more content to Wikimedia projects. There used to be a time when we engaged in writing, curating, and maintaining articles on Wikipedia in the pursuit of enlightenment, spreading knowledge to everyone online, contributing to the biggest encyclopædia there has ever been. This is over now, as the project is gradually being handed over to the PR industry and its stakeholders, getting rid of the old crowdsourcing community, with a devastating effect on quality and trust. Diverse editor communities used to rule themselves. No more. Only traffic and edit counts matter now, the quality of contributions does not count any more. It is the end of Wikipedia as we know it. Which means that it is time to go and to engage in other projects on the web to keep working there for our goals.
  • You can contact me on my discussion page, where I will also post my reply, or by E-Mail. Thanks.
  • Discussions started on a talk page of another user, of an article, or a portal should please be continued there so as to keep all the conversation in one place. I'm watching, though it may take a while for me to reply since I am not active every day on Wikipedia and I have switched off e-mail notifications.
  • Sometimes I am on #wikipedia-de on the Freenode network.
