[edit] Quick "thanks" from Afrikaans Wikipedia

Hi, there

Just a quick "thank you" for your recent house cleaning at the Afrikaans Wikipedia. I tried to delete a bit of the clutter each day, but never really seemed to get anywhere. Thanks a bunch! Anrie 05:50, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spam en ast.wikipedia.org

Hola Drini.

No necesitas hacer nada. Lo que sigue, es bloquear a los bots de spam cada vez que aparezcan. 16:04, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
OK, gracias. Una pregunta: ¿por qué hay robots de spam que hacen esas páginas? No tienen propaganda, no piden dinero, no dicen nada... Smeira 20:30, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] drini@liwikt

Thanks for cleaning up. We have this almost each day since we have 350 pages. But I keep hopeful that this will come to an end someday. --Ooswesthoesbes 14:42, 19 September 2007 (UTC) (liwikt)

With the "nospam" page I created, should reduce the problem. Let me know if it returns, I'm trackign all spambot ips to block them across wiktionaries. drini [es:] [commons:] 14:43, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
The most problems aren't crosswiki but Dutch people who keep on creating pages see: recent changes. Many pages can't be cascaded because they're also Limburgish words. --Ooswesthoesbes 14:46, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Malay Wikipedia and Wiktionary

Hola!
Thanks for solving problems in the two places (mswiki and mswiktionary). But do you still want your sysop status in these two places? If you don't, please kindly desysop yourself. Thank you. --Edmund the King of the Woods! 08:54, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

I have already removed desysoped myself. drini [es:] [commons:] 13:28, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maori wiktionary

Thanks you for the clean up! Oldzealander/nl:wikt:Gebruiker:Jcwf

Yes, spambot launched an attack from 4 or 5 differnet ips in the past hour, I got cleanup for the next hour ;) drini [es:] [commons:] 01:44, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Could you set up a sitenotice on Uighur Wikipedia please ?

Hello Drini, I saw that you recently blocked someone on that Wikipedia. Would you be so helpful with setting up a Sitenotice there for the administrator election ? More info here. Thank you, --Erkan Yilmaz 18:59, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the fast reply. --Erkan Yilmaz 20:04, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hey Drini, you are doing fine

Hi Drini, Thankyou for your help in deleting the vandalized articles on Uyghur Wikipedia. You are a good bureaucrat. Also, I would like to express my gratitude to you for granting me temporary sysop access on the various interwiki languages.

If you ever need any favourite articles to be translated into the Chinese language, then I would be glad to help you. --Jose77 09:02, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About Nospam page

So the Nospam page blocks the spambots. Thanks!

What to do with it now, then? Should the community maintain it from now on, or will you continue the maintaining yet? Yury Tarasievich 06:32, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

[edit] Deleting userpages on lg.wikipedia.org

Hi Drini,

A few months ago I filed a request to have my userpage deleted over at lg.wikipedia.org. The admin I asked has not been active for quite a while now, so I'd like to ask you to carry out the deletion. You probably need a proof of identity; here is the diff of me asking admin Kizito to remove my page.

Thank you! — mark 14:36, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks Drini

Thanks with your help in keeping the Akan and Ewe Wikipedias spambot and vandalism free. By the way, the interwiki link for the Akan Wikipedia reads "Akana" instead of "Akan". How can this be corrected?--Natsubee 11:36, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] cs.source/thx

Hi, thanks for you edit http://cs.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Wikisource:Nospam&diff=prev&oldid=17097 - in fact we use this since some time, see our page here, I will make one page of both soon. Thanks for your edits. -jkb- 14:53, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sl.wiktionary

Tnx for your work on blocking spam on sl.wiktionary! Could you please grant bot status to http://sl.wiktionary.org/wiki/Uporabnik:VolkovBot!? --Andrejj 12:03, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nospam

Hi. What is exactly "Nospam" page? How it works? Is this MediaWiki feature? Borgx 01:09, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Ah yes. I get it. You're using the cascade protection trick. Thanks. Borgx 03:59, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks from bpy wikipedia

Thanks Drini for your time to all wikis to stop spam bots. I know you are staying to bpy wiki for a short time, but my request is please stay more, and help me to fight against spams. I like to keep clean bpy wiki from nonsense spams. Everyday I block a lot of spammers. Not only that, I am planing to take a short wiki break next week, so your adminship on bpy wiki will help me a lot. Thanks again. [sorry I fogot to sign]--Usingha 18:42, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

We appreciate your help and you are very welcome to be part of our wikipedia. Continue to do your service and continue to help especially those who do not even know exactly what you are doing for them. More power! --Weekeejames 19:01, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] enough?

Thank you for blocking suspected proxies and so forth everywere. But 5 days, 1 week,… is such a short duration effective and worth the effort? to:user:tauʻolunga 08:16, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Saw your answer in the talk page of to:user:tauʻolunga.. :) In mlwikt, please feel free to block vandal ip-s for 1 year if you feel that is the appropriate duration! --Jacob 08:56, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proxies

Sure, you can block them. Thanks for the link. --Derbeth 01:40, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] LiteratePrograms Wiki

Hi Drini. I wanted to thank you for your antispam work on the WikiMedia projects. You are taking absolutely the right approach.

As it happens, these spammers are not just targeting the Wikimedia projects, they are also hitting http://en.literateprograms.org. The wiki owner, en:User:Dcoetzee, has made me an administrator there and I have been blocking spammers there over the last few weeks, although I haven't yet tried pre-emptive blocking. I'll need to discuss that with Deco first. Anyway, I wonder if you would be interested in sharing spamming IP addresses? I don't know if there's any overlap but I wouldn't be surprised if there was. -- Derek Ross 04:41, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User:Drini on hywp

Hi, and thank you for your recent deletion of vandalisms. Could you please put a redirect link on your hy-user page to your meta page (and possibly couple of words about your stewardship), and promptly remove your sysop rights once the vandalisms have been taken care of. This will surely contribute to a better understanding of visually random sysop actions by an unfamiliar user. Thanks. ― Teak 01:39, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] From dv.wiki

[edit] Thanks

Thank you very much for all your work on the kabyle wikipedia. As you see, not only the states are willing to erase this language from the surface of the earth. Your help contribute to save one of the oldest language on the planete: Tamazight, the language of still 50 millions people in north africa and abroad.

Alone you represent much more than UNESCO for us

thank you for the removals ([1]). --Diuturno 15:22, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
