User:Hanteng/personal attacks by some Chinese Wikipedians

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

This page summarizes and provides links to the personal attacks on me and others by some Chinese Wikipedians, as part of the preparation for a Wikimania 2014 submission, "Paid contributions in the Chinese context of monitoring and guiding online public opinion".

Some of the original content is listed in zh:User:Hanteng/遭人身攻擊記錄 in Chinese.

zh:User:Jsjsjs1111[edit]

zh:User:Jsjsjs1111, following zh:User:守望者爱孟 and zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武's personal attack on me (using derogatory names), registered a user account with the same derogatory name. The account is user checked, or "check-user" (CU) to be a puppet freshly registered by zh:User:Jsjsjs1111.

zh:User:守望者爱孟[edit]

zh:User:守望者爱孟 initiated many personal attacks on me, during and possibly because of my editing of several articles in Chinese Wikipedia in direct relation to Chinese politics.

zh:User:守望者爱孟 is currently indefinitely blocked for his attacks on a Chinese Wikipedia administrator who promote Wikipedia on Weibo, both inside and outside Chinese Wikipedia.

zh:User:守望者爱孟 is reported by en:Southern_Weekly that he said to a Chinese Wikipedian that he has evidence against the Chinese Wikipedia administer who blocked him, and being indirectly quoted "Should I deal with him through (Chinese Communist) party committees channels?" (See Chinese-language report by Southern Weekly). Both the Chinese Wikipedian he talked to and zh:User:守望者爱孟 himself denied such existence of such incidence after the report is published, leaving questions regarding whether the report is politically biased or the informants are later pressured.

zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武[edit]

After warnings by a Chinese Wikipedia administrator, zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武 stopped using the same derogatory name against me (the same name first used by zh:User:守望者爱孟 and then registered by zh:User:Jsjsjs1111 as supposedly anonymous puppet account).

However, zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武 continued using the term just recently, during a series of heated debates. He promised again that he will not do this in the future.

During the series of discussions, often initiated by zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武 on various new articles and lists that I contribute to Chinese Wikipedia, several new accounts emerge to enter these discussions. So far at least seven accounts (see five here and two here are confirmed by user checked process to be manipulated by the same person zh:User:Mengheng). Interestingly enough, six of the seven accounts were commenting and editing on zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武's side, leaving one account that follows my edits that are in conflict with zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武 ([1]). Since the last account does not engage in these discussions, I personally believed that this account is used to frame me so that they can have legitimate reasons to make check-users request against me as a way of exercising political pressure.

Recently I was blocked from editing Chinese Wikipedia for a week (till April 9) for "war-editng" with zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武. The administrator who blocked me does not take into account that I was fighting simple vandalism (traditional and simplified Chinese per zhWP policy) against four edits made by IP user, who immediately entered the editing process after the third revert by zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武. The administrator who blocked me also previously blocked me on the templates regarding Weiquan and Human Rights Lawyers in China (More here. The block was only lifted after he conceded that the distinction is well sourced, even by Chinese-language literature from mainland China.

Though I am not sure if the two administrators (including the one who reviewed the block review) involved in my most recent block has any political considerations, I personally believe that zh:User:蘇州宇文宙武 used that IP address to continue editing in a slightly different manners to constitute a trap for me to fight vandalism regarding Chinese scripts. I was reverting the IP edits that keep removing the map with automatic conversion for both simplified and traditional Chinese users, but apparently the administrators do not consider my case as fighting vandalism against the IP address.

zh:User:BlackLotux[edit]

zh:User:BlackLotux (aka zh:User:Edouardlicn), along zh:User:守望者爱孟, was prominently reported by en:Southern_Weekly as "patriotic" Chinese Wikipedians with a clear political mission.

zh:User:BlackLotux has attacked me before zh:User:守望者爱孟 and others when I was just begin to make contribution to Chinese Wikipedia after my content/citation research on the comparative study of en:Baidu Baike and Chinese Wikipedia is done.

zh:User:BlackLotux promoted a en:QQ group that zh:User:守望者爱孟 later promoted as well. It is also reported by en:Southern_Weekly that zh:User:BlackLotux has advised zh:User:守望者爱孟 how to edit Chinese Wikipedia.

According to the report, zh:User:BlackLotux is doing work that "slightly related to that of public servants" (做着“和公务员沾些边”的工作, in Chinese with original quotes by the reporter).

Because of using multiple puppets and launching a series of personal attacks, both zh:User:BlackLotux and zh:User:Edouardlicn are indefinitely blocked by User:Wing.
