Mobile Beta testing[edit]

Hi Dan653,

Thank you for signing up to test the experimental features we're building on the Wikimedia mobile Beta site! We just released a few new prototypes you might be interested in trying out. Please keep in mind that since the Beta is a testing ground for early stages of feature development and design, you'll definitely encounter bugs and unpolished software – your feedback will help us understand what areas we should focus on as we build these out into real features :)

To explore the Beta, visit any Wikimedia project on one of the supported devices/browsers and opt into Beta (tap on top left navigation menu > Settings > Opt in to Beta). From there, you can:

  • Log in (via the link in top left navigation menu)
  • Browse some articles and watchlist/unwatchlist them
  • Check your watchlist (via the link in top left navigation menu)
  • Edit
  • Add images to articles without any images in the lead

(Again, keep in mind that everything on Beta is highly experimental, so check to make sure that your edits/uploads went through successfully!)

Please leave any feedback you have for the mobile team on the mobile Beta talk page. Let us know if anything is especially confusing or strange, and feel free to give suggestions for improvement.

Thanks again! Maryana (WMF) (talk) 22:41, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to join the Commons mobile uploads testing week[edit]

Uploading pictures from mobile devices to Wikimedia Commons must be simple for everybody! We have fresh software and you can help testing it.

See you there? If you have any questions let me know.--Qgil (talk) 21:45, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PS: you are receiving this invitation because you signed up to Mobile projects/Beta.

Global CSS/JS migration[edit]

Hello Dan653. You have a global.js page which contains your global scripts for all wikis. Since August 19th, your global.js and global.css pages are loaded automatically on all wikis (see announcement). Since you already load them yourself on some wikis, you may experience script errors or issues like tools being added twice. I can fix that for you by merging your local scripts and styles into your global pages, and deleting the local pages with synchbot. Do you want me to do that? —Pathoschild 03:48, 21 September 2014 (UTC)

If you could do that, that would be great, thank you! Dan653 (talk) 03:00, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I did this a couple of weeks ago. You can see the full log on your archive page. :) —Pathoschild 02:35, 02 November 2014 (UTC)

JSTOR account redistribution (The Wikipedia Library)[edit]

Hi - according to our records you received a free account for JSTOR through The Wikipedia Library. Because we’ve used up all of our allocated accounts, and it’s been some time since they were distributed, we want to redistribute any accounts that aren’t being used to users on our waitlist.

If you’re still using, or plan to use, your JSTOR access, no problem! Simply head over to the Library Card platform, log in, and request a renewal of your account. You should be able to do this from your user page, or the JSTOR signup page. If you can’t find the renewal button, or have any other issues or questions about this, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. We’ll begin redistributing inactive accounts in September; if you request renewal after then we will only be able to reactivate your account if we have spots remaining. Thanks, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:32, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
