Translation Update

I want to thank you for your help translating throughout this year's fundraiser. The fundraiser has greatly benefited from all your contributions. Currently, the Kartika, Liliaroja, Abbas and Joan Gomà appeals need to be translated, as we are running appeals from editors. You can find all translation requests at the translation hub on meta and you can follow the progress of the fundraiser in real time by tracking the fundraiser statistics. It is important to check the Core Messages as many languages still need updating. Also if you haven't already, you can subscribe to the translators-l mailing list for all new requests and major changes. Translator, We need you!

Dear Emperyan,

You have helped us in previous years with translations and for that we are most grateful. Now we turn towards the 2011/12 fundraiser. It may seem forever away, but work has already begun getting everything ready to go. This year we want to have landing pages covering as many countries in as many languages as possible.

Right now, we want to figure out who is interested in translating for the fundraiser. This year we're hoping to have more of a solidified "core" group of translators that we can count on to have work done by a few key dates, but we'd also welcome help from people who are willing to just help out when they can.

If you would be interested please take a look at this little sign-up survey and fill it out http://survey.wikimedia.org/index.php?sid=13638&newtest=Y&lang=en. With that we can start building a list of people and filling any gaps in the languages we serve.

İlk önce oy kullandığınız için Size teşekkür ederek, yorumunuzdaki bir yanlışı düzeltmek isterim. Nasıl yani türkçe bilmiyorum? Türkçe çok güzel biliyorum; ama bayrak sorunu ile bağlı olarak haklısınız. Mayıs ayında olanlarda kendim adına TrViki kullanıcılarına haksızlık etdiyimin farkındayım. Benim ingilizce de öyle süper sayılmaz :D Birebir çevirmekten nefret ediyorum ama.Bize uygun olmuyor direk çevri durumunda kanımca.İngilizce bi şarkının Türkçe'ye çevrilince 'Beraber kırlarda koşardık ve sonra bir bira içmeye giderdik' tarzında oluyor :D Ben cümleleri bizim dilimizin söylenişine uygun hale getirmeye gayret göstererek çeviriyorum,bazen sen bunları yanlış çevirmişsin diyen bi kesim de oluyor tabi ama kısmet ne diyelim :D Hayırlı olsun yeni göreviniz o zaman umarım işler sizin için hep kolay gider =) Sınava hazırlanıyorum ama elimden geldiğince böyle projelerde yardımcı olmaya çalışırım sizlere.Tekrar iyi günler =) UnicornuS 11:40, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Change in translations

Hi, and thank you for your activity with fundraiser translations so far!! I have one small request to make: We had to change three of the appeals; the change is the same in all of them, and the replacement text is quite short, so I don't want to e-mail people just to fix that, and that's why I'm asking you instead. It would be great if you could do the following fixes in Turkish:

• Jimmy Letter 002
• Kaldari Letter (remember the change from 420 million to 422 million)
• Alan Letter

Since these are small changes you don't have to go through the cycle of having it proofread and everything, unless you are unsure about the translation. Thanks in advance. :-) Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 05:24, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

Şu bağış kampanyası hakkında

Sana danışıyorum ama... Şu Vikipedi ve kardeş projelerinde bağış kampanyasının afişleri görünmeye başlandı. Ancak diğer dil sürümlerinde olduğu gibi bizim vikilerde afiş bağlantıları açılmıyor. Reverting several revisions

Hi, Emperyan! A tip: To revert several revisions at once, you can click on the date for the revision you want to revert to, then click edit, and save (with a fitting edit summary). The fundraiser was the best we ever had, both in terms of the amount we collected and in terms of number of translations. For telling me about the Turkish Wikipedia conference. It sounds great!

I can't attend this year's conference because I will be in Long Beach, California on that date. But the Wikimedia Foundation would be very happy to support these types of conference in Turkey -- if there is another one in future please tell us, and we will try to send someone. (Or we can send T-shirts, or whatever would be useful.)
