Welcome to Meta![edit]

Hello Ezarate!, and welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). Happy editing! — Mikhailov Kusserow (talk) 03:37, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Identification[edit]

I have sent you an email about the way that you can identify yourself to wikimedia foundation which is mandatory for all candidates Mardetanha talk 17:38, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

candidate statement - please clarify[edit]

Hi, I am translating your candidate statement now and I am not sure if "reviewer" is the same as "patroller" or maybe it is plainly someone who edits content to make it better. Ofrahod 07:30, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your translation!, I can edit protected pages and validate news --Esteban 19:34, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. In this case I think I should use the Hebrew equivalent for w:Wikipedia:Administrators. Let me know if you think this term isn't accurate. Ofrahod 06:16, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
I just found that reviewer is a formal term. Unfortunately, I don't know of a Hebrew equivalent. I will use something along the line of "privileged editor". Good luck with the elections! Ofrahod 06:31, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Questions to Board candidates[edit]

Based on the statistics concerning the number of pages read in previous years' Q&As, I infer that few voters take them into account. Personally, I see it as a very interesting exercise despite the fact that we the candidates are also the main readers. I believe it is a unique type of debate among us that is especially interesting.

I have noticed that User Alecmconroy suggested a very interesting series of questions on strategic issues. They can be seen here: User talk:Alecmconroy#More questions for Board Candidates (or others). I have given my opinion, but I see he has not communicated directly to the candidates this set of questions. Perhaps you find them interesting.

I wish you the best possible result in these elections and, if you agree, I suggest that we continue having this type of debate regardless of who is chosen.

Cheers and good luck.--Gomà 09:25, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Help compile Objective Data about the Candidates[edit]

Posted to all candidates talk page:

To aid in the fair evaluation of all the candidates, especially those not active on EnWiki, verifiable data about the candidates is being compiled. Anyone is invited to help compile the data since it is all publicly available on-wiki.

But since the people best qualified to help are the candidates themselves, it seems reasonable to ask:

  • Which languages do you speak? (voter statement)
  • Which projects do you contribute to?
    • For each, when was your first edit?
    • For each, how many total edits? (exact figures not need)
  • Which projects are you an admin on?
  • Are you a bureaucrat? which projects? when?
  • Are you a CheckUser? Which projects? When did you start??
  • Are you a steward? If so when were you made one?
  • Have you served in a verifiable leadership role on a project? (e.g. Like EnWiki's Founder or Arbcom member)
  • Have you served in a verifiable leadership role on at the Chapter or Foundation level? (Trustee, etc)

Are there any objectively verifiable facts that should be included in this guide but aren't?

(Incidentally, this document won't reflect my own personal values or wikipolitical opinions. Ideally it will come to exist outside of my userspace in some neutral, visible location. -- Alecmconroy)

Your steward statement[edit]

Hi there! We just worked on translating your statement into German, but failed at the following sentence: I like also in cooperate finding alternatives to attract new editors and avoid to miss them in the different wikis, overall in the smaller wikis which don't have many active sysops. — we don't get the meaning. Also, I fixed some typos on your English statement. Can you please rewrite the sentence? Thanks and good luck for the elections. -Barras 20:45, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Ups... yo no sé alemán. Si lo quieres expresado en inglés de otra manera, se me ocurre esto:

Also, I want to help the wikimedia projects –specially the smaller ones– find and apply new ways to keep old editors and invite new editors to join us.

Translations in your steward statement[edit]

Hello Esteban. I just translated your statement in French [1]. But it may contain errors, especially because I think that your english and spanish statements are saying different things. I don't really have understand if you want, as a steward, to help small wikis and to find alternatives to attract new editors (what the spanish (if I'm true), and by consequent the french statement, are saying) ; or if you're already doing these things (what your english statement is saying). Cordially, -- Quentinv57 (talk) 09:09, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

esqikiquote[edit]

No te preocupes[edit]

Salam Ezarate.

Fundraising translation feedback[edit]

Hey Ezarate,

I wanted to ask for your help. As you may be aware we have been running banners on many language wikis. We have a lot of new content this year and I really want to conduct a thorough review of our translations. This is a combination of feedback from the community, readers, donors as well as those with professional translator experience. This will help us ensure the highest quality of translations used in our messaging.

To help us out with this I wonder if you would be willing to give us feedback for Spanish using This Link

Simply follow the simple instructions on that page and if you have any questions feel free to contact me on my talk page.

Many Thanks
