Why did you delete my vote?[edit]

You removed my vote from the global sysops poll, saying that it was because I have removed your vote because "you do not meet the stated requirements of: 150 edits on at least one project and 3 months of registry." Yet i was invited to take part in the poll, so clearly I met the criteria!

I'm sorry but you global contributions is some small for vote there. Regards, – Innv | d | s: 09:40, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

Hey Innv, and thanks for your category work. Just a heads-up, though, that Translation requests sometimes have non-existent categories (and links) and that's actually intended. ;-) Translations are done here on Meta-Wiki and are then copied over to the other site (usually foundationwiki), where the categories and links do exist. So while you're cleaning up categories, make sure you don't change those ones. Thanks again! Cbrown1023 talk 23:02, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, many thanks for the useful information. Regards, – Innv | d | s: 02:46, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thin client[edit]

Why are you removing a link related with an spanish thin client project? We are a cooperation for development group, and we are working with thin client technology since 4 years ago. We would like to keep a link to our project in the spanish version of thin client. What is the reason because of that you have decided to remove the link of the project Lan Core? — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jmartinezmateo (talk)

Hi! Please provide article with this link. Regards, – Innv | d | s: 00:41, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What kind of article do you want? The link refers to the main web page of the Lan Core project (similar to the other projects: LTSP and TCOS). If you want information about our work, you can read it in the web page of our project, http://lancore.sf.net/, and in the wiki of the cooperation group, http://tedeco.fi.upm.es/wiki/Publicaciones, there you will find publications about the application of thin client tecnology in education at developing countries.

I have removed the other links as well. Such link are not in line with e.g. 'What Wikipedia is not' - Not an internet directory, and not with parts of 'Links normally to be avoided'. That link would be appropriate only on the page en:Lan Core, if that article is notable enough to exist (please see the Business FAQ and the Conflict of Interest guideline for more information for that). These guidelines are mainly for the English Wikipedia, but please be aware that similar exist on many other wikis (you might be able to find them through the interwiki links, though that list is not necessarily complete), and that Wikipedia is foremost an encyclopedia, not a place to promote something. I hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C (en: U, T) 10:05, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see, you propose to write, for example, about of operating systems without naming Windows, Linux or Solaris (among others). Well, I have a different point of view. Please, could you tell me what is your background in thin client technology? I suppose that you must be an expert in order to remove those three projects from a thin client article.

No need for that, the links fail our policies and guidelines, en:Windows, en:Linux, en:Unix, en:Solaris, to name a few, have their own articles, and as you see, the official link of the producer is there. If you go to en:Computer, you don't see links to the websites of the companies, they are internal links.
So, does your external link belong on en:Thin client? Well, clearly not, your link belongs on en:Lan Core, and a wikilink to en:Lan Core may belong on en:Thin client (though you will see that on en:Computer not every possible operating system is named.
In any case, if you think that I am wrong, you are free to post on the talkpages, making your case why you think that inclusion is warranted, and then wait to see if others agree. Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C (en: U, T) 13:53, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just look at the result: a thin client article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thin_client) without any reference to, for example, the Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Terminal_Server_Project). Why? Because you have removed every link without review the article, without review those links, and surely without a minimum background in thin client technology. Do you know how old is the LTSP project? Do you know its impact? Do you know its importance/significance?

link removal on LI wiki[edit]

Could you please refrain from removing links without checking first if they are spam? The link removed here clearly is not spam, and certainly not cross-wiki spam as stated in the summary! - Pahles 13:38, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your vote[edit]

Hello Innv, and thanks for considering me as a steward. I see you fear I will not be active enough, so I thought I'd leave you a note. I don't find activity to be that measureable, really. To me, Wikipedia is a bit of a life style, which means I do not only enjoy edit (and thereby fill up my edit count), I also enjoy speaking to contributers through other channels (like e-mail and IM), reading discussions, patroll edits etc. It's dangerous to promise, but I hope that I will be able to do a decent job as a steward, with the time I have on my hand, which is neither too much nor too little. I hope for your reconsideration, though I – of course – respect your opposing vote. Thanks, --EivindJ 15:56, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gday and many thanks for your detailed comment. I'll think about this and probably make comments in your vote page (later). Regards, —Innv {ru-ws} 06:20, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Your Reversion of my Edit[edit]

Hello, I edited and removed private information such as my full name off of the COIBot 2007 report, which you reverted. Because the Bot's log contains private information, I would like the information that I removed from the log removed permanently from public view. I understand that it is generally frowned upon to modify the archives, but I am not a Wikimedia User. I am a Wikipedia user who has gone through the steps at Oversight and I have also gone through the lengthy process of removing personal information off of the Wikipedia as well as Wikimedia foundation. Please allow me to remove my personal information once and for all from the COIBot May 2007 report without any trouble. Please unprotect the report and delete my personal information. --Dans80 20:57, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for information. If this information private I'll be delete this, of course. If you need fully deletion of information you can contact to oversighters (they can remove private info). Regards, —Innv {ru-ws} 01:00, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes, please delete the information. The 2 entries of the "COIBot/COIReports May 4, 2007" log that I would like deleted are lines #199 and #914. The information is still visible, and the archive is still protected. Please act on this matter. Thank you for your understanding. --Dans80 01:28, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fundraising Translators[edit]

Hi Innv, my name is Deniz and I am working for the Wikimedia Foundation during the 2010 Fundraiser. My job is to be your liaison between the Russian community and the Foundation. This year's fundraiser is intended to be a collaborative and global effort, we recognize that banner messages that perform well in the United States don't necessarily translate well, or appeal to international audiences. I'm contacting you as I am currently looking for translators who are willing to contribute to this project, translating messages into Russian and suggesting messages that would appeal to Russian readers on the Fundraising Meta Page. Please let me know if you'd be interested in helping with this project, and add your feedback to the proposed messages as well! I look forward to working with you during this year's fundraiser. --Dgultekin 19:57, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

English/Russian translations[edit]

Dear Innv, I am contacting you to introduce myself. My name is Jessica Robell and I have recently joined the Wikimedia Foundation as a part of the fundraising team. My work will be focused to a large extent around translations. I am very interested in finding engaged Wikipedians, such as yourself, who would be interested in contributing with their time to translate shorter text from English to Russian. We have for example recently put up a 'Thank you letter' from the Wikimedia Foundation's ED Sue Gardner for translation, using the translation extension. You can find the letter here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-Fundraising%2FTranslation%2FThank+you+email+20131202&language=ru&filter=translated&action=translate I would be most grateful to get your help to translate/proofread this letter in order to develop a quality translation in Russian.

Furthermore, in addition to using the translation extension, my aim is to develop a few personal contacts to whom I can reach out with potential questions regarding a particular word choice etc. As an engaged Wikipedia translator, I would be very interested in hearing your view on this. Thank you very much for your support. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards, Jessica Robell Global Fundraising Coordinator

Global CSS/JS migration[edit]

Hello Innv. I noticed that you import User:Mike.lifeguard/remote.js using local monobook.js pages on many wikis. Since August 2014, your global.js and global.css pages are loaded automatically on all wikis. Do you want me to merge your scripts into your global.js and remove the local pages using Synchbot? (If you're not using Monobook, I can also remove the pages without merging them.) —Pathoschild 02:55, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi again! I haven't heard back from you, so I'll assume you don't want to do this. Feel free to leave me a message or add a Synchbot request if you change your mind. :) —Pathoschild 16:51, 09 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
