Mentibot, interwiki sorting order[edit]

your bot don't know that ltg: is a valid interwiki: diff. please fix, update or tell developers. --Akkakk 11:54, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

It might have been a temporary glitch. I'll keep an eye on it. -- Mentifisto 13:17, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Teles is not conected[edit]

Hi, Mentifisto. I think I will have to accept what was proposed by you here. I tried to usurp "Teles" on el.wiki but I got no response after a month. You said that I should state that I'm not "Teles" on el.wiki. Exactly where do you suggest I should put this statement?” Teles (Talk @ C S) 04:47, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

On the Greek wikis perhaps, since the local communities would be interested in the clarification. Or on Meta (if all your userpages point here, like mine do), maybe. I don't think it would be a problem in the long run; Teles on elwiki hasn't edited in years and probably won't. -- Mentifisto 21:40, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
I left a clarification on all Greek wikis. This message on el.wiki and a message like this on all the others. I think it is enough, isn't it? Thanks for your attention.” Teles (Talk @ C S) 22:52, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I'm sure it's enough (apologies for the late reply). -- Mentifisto 02:13, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Page undelete[edit]

Hi mentifisto

I'm not sure why exactly, but my userpage here at meta was deleted some time ago by Abigor. He gave RTV as the reason, despite the fact I never requested RTV, either here or at en.wikipedia. Regardless, can I have it undeleted? Thanks Manning 07:29, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Nevermind, I found the 'requests for undeletion' page. Cheers Manning 08:08, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Too late[edit]

LOL thanks. Didn´t saw the date just the helpme template. It can be possible that others that I´m going trough are also too old. But thanks :D --WizardOfOz talk 22:02, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

No problem! :-)
(It seems these helpme requests are only being handled now because the category was recently added to Special:RecentChanges.) -- Mentifisto 22:08, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Ah thats why i saw it above! --WizardOfOz talk 22:10, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
My bad, sorry! ;-) Trijnstel 22:19, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Is it allowed in Wikipedia?[edit]

To keep in the pages of wiki Administrator's personnel thesis? at http://sd.wikipedia.org ? Other problem is We call Computer as same in English, but admin forcibly used his word Ganpukar of Computer. I have proof that thousands of published books called it Computer not Ganpukar. If some one oppose him he started abusive language. That is the reason sd.wikipedia.org never got attraction to Sindhi community. Plz check record there. Other things are he locked CSS due to that on the same site there are lot of font styles appeared there. He is not able to set commonCSS or Monocss. We are in trouble to work in our local Sindhi language. I don't know where to say for this problem. Record history says all the situation there. I appeal plz warn him to follow en.wikipedia.org rules, other wise he will continue use his personnel details and personnel promoted articles there. Dear I am sorry If u r not right person to say all about this, Plz suggest me where I can raise this issue. My sd.wikipedia.org ID is same. His thesis is not a violetion? http://sd.wikipedia.org/wiki/ماحولياتي_انتظام_ڪاڻ_اُپُگِرَهِي_عَڪس_ضماءُ_۽_درجه_بنديءَ_جي_طريقن_جو_اَڀياس

StewardScript[edit]

Hello Mentifisto. I just rewrote StewardScript, so it's now compatible with the recent MediaWiki changes and has all the previous features (except instant checkuser, due to changes in MediaWiki's security). I noticed you're using Krinkle's partial rewrite (which only has the menu so far) in User:Mentifisto/vector.js. I updated the usage instructions if you're interested. —Pathoschild 00:16:22, 05 December 2011 (UTC)

Globally locked user requesting unblock on en-wiki[edit]

Hi Mentifisto. Iamthemuffinman, a user whose account you globally locked in August, has finally posted a decent unblock request under his en-wiki account. I'm inclined to grant him one last chance, but I haven't been able to locate the original rationale for the lock (I'm something of a stranger to Meta, and may have missed it) and I'm concerned that unblocking him may have wider implications. Please could you give me a brief run-down of the decision to implement a global lock, and offer a recommendation as to whether it's sensible or not to free up his en-wiki account again? Much obliged, Yunshui (talk) 13:59, 16 October 2012 (UTC) best place to contact me is my en-wiki talkpage here.

Bot inactivity @ it.wiki[edit]

Dear Mentifisto, your Mentibot had no edits on it.wiki for last 12 months. If you have objections, please answer on my talk, otherwise your bot will be deflagged in 7 days. Best regards, --93.37.83.27 15:45, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Interwiki on it.wiki[edit]

Hi, by 30 January 2013 interwikies in it.wiki are managed by wikidata so please stop your bot in it.wiki.--Dega180 (talk) 09:01, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

It's been stopped - thanks for informing me. -- Mentifisto 00:19, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Stewardship[edit]

An image that is partially in focus, but mostly out of focus in varying degrees.

Please notice that I asked three questions of each candidate at Stewards/Elections 2013/Questions

  1. Do you look forward to being an active catalyst for consensus-building, especially in small wiki contexts?
  2. Do you see your role as a passive bystander with a few tools?
  3. Are you able to make balanced guesses about why, when and how "it is better not to reach than to go too far"?

As you know, you are identified as a steward at simple:Wikipedia:Administrators#List of Administrators. In this context, it is timely and meaningful to pose the same questions. --Ansei (talk) 19:06, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

These questions are not a complaint. They are forward looking and open-ended. Is it not appropriate and useful to ask such questions from time to time? Is it not reasonable to ask experienced stewards the same kinds of questions which are presented to steward candidates? --Ansei (talk) 02:19, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
With regards to going too far, I don't think I usually do, as I'm more of an observer in complex scenarios than a participant (which I guess also means I'm not actually an active catalyst, although hopefully not merely a bystander). -- Mentifisto 19:32, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Thank you. You try to be prudent? --Ansei (talk) 00:25, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Sure, but it would not be so prudent to widely proclaim my prudence! ;-) -- Mentifisto 03:29, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

Verify[edit]

Can you verify [1]? πr2 (tc) 21:40, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

The last line ("fittex ivvota") doesn't sound as good as the text in the previous revision, but the other changes seem sensible. -- Mentifisto 19:32, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Is the last translation (fittex ivvota) wrong or does it just sound worse? (BTW, are you a native speaker of mt?) πr2 (t • c) 03:39, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
It may just sound weird and informal, with "Jekk jogħġbok ivvota" being a more straightforward "please vote", but I'm not sure (I am technically but have mostly spoken, not written it, so I might not be correct - mt:Diskussjoni utent:Chrisportelli usually translates regularly, if you'd like to check with him). -- Mentifisto 04:00, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

Khm, khm[edit]

Sorry, but why am I blocked????? --Vitez Hirald from wikipedia.rs.

I am also blocked for 7 days without any purpose. I understand that a lot of people has same IP adress, but it isn't fair to block all of them. wikipedia.rs I expect that you will unblock our accounts. --Milosh990 (talk) 20:50, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Please request an IP block exempt on the local project if you still can't edit. I can't see any blocks on your accounts, so I'd suggest sending a message to stewards at wikimedia.org with your IP if the problem persists. -- Mentifisto 19:32, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Please help[edit]

I´m Partynia and have a global account at all wiki projects. All of them work (auomatic log in) but the meta account doesn´t work. I even cannot log in manually, because it says, the password is wrong. (It isn´t, because it works on all other projects). when I ask to send me an email with my password, it says, the emailadress is wrong. Here is my SUL Info. Who can help me? Please answer on my disk (german account) Thanx. Partynia --178.26.64.20 06:33, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Bureaucrat discussion[edit]

Hello. A bureaucrat discussion has been opened to decide the outcome of this request for de-adminship. It is opened for more than three days now and it has only received one comment so far. If you could please pass by and leave your comments over there it would be really appreciated. Best regards.

— Delivered via Global message delivery on behalf of MarcoAurelio, 15:20, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
Your comment was fair enough, I guess. It would be nice if you could confirm that you've read my comments on that protection, assuming that's what you're talking of.[2] [3] More important than the responsibilities I may be freed of, however: now that you commented on the specific case, given that you say to avoid "appearance of a conflict of interest" and you're so sure that "sysop tools were indeed utilized as an involved participant" in a case where it was hard to find even a single administrator to do mere "traffic police" work, you may want to add your thoughts on the general matter and for instance MarcoAurelio's point. I still have to develop an opinion on the matter, for instance. Regards, Nemo 12:18, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

How to...?[edit]

Hello, Could you please give me an advice in regard how to place a formal complaint against an administrator? I would like to point out an issue at slovak Wikipedia. Thank you.

Renaming information request[edit]

You have been identified as someone who does a large number of renames. If you could visit Rename practices and explain your renaming practices and policy, we would appreciate the effort. We are making this request to help us better understand local renaming practices as we work towards SUL finalization. Thank you for your time and feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Forced user renames coming soon for SUL[edit]

Hi, sorry for writing in English. I'm writing to ask you, as a bureaucrat of this wiki, to translate and review the notification that will be sent to all users, also on this wiki, who will be forced to change their user name on May 27 and will probably need your help with renames. You may also want to help with the pages m:Rename practices and m:Global rename policy. Thank you, Nemo 16:52, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
