[edit] Translation
Hi, I've seen you reverted the translation I posted with the comment "online translators doesn't work good for polish". Well, I didn't use any online translator. I asked to a friend, who is a native Polish speaker, to translate it. He does not know anything about Wikipedia and Wikimedia, and therefore he told me he was not sure about some concepts. In fact, he told me "Some terms are specific for Wikipedia language but I tried to find some polish equivalent". For example, he thought that a bot was a "team". He told me "what is „bot”? I think it is like a team = ekipa". And thus, I changed the sentence he wrote "Jestem jednym z założycieli ekipy wspierającej tłumaczenie (what is „bot”? I think it is like a team = ekipa) używanej w Wikipedii katalońskiej." for "Jestem jednym z założycieli bot wspierającej tłumaczenie używanej w Wikipedii katalońskiej.". I assumed this could create a problem with declinations, but I supposed that, if a native Polish saw this problem, he would correct it, and not revert the whole translation.
If the translation is really terrible, I thank you for your revert, and I'll complain to my friend. But if there were just some small problems, due to the lack of wikimedia knowledge, then I think it would be better to post the translated text, and -if you could be so nice- help us correcting this mistakes. As I don't know any Polish, I'm not capable to decide about it. Thank you! --Xtv 08:48, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi! Unfortunately, most of that text did sound a bit awkward. It wasn't just the wrong translation or declension of individual words (and not only WM-related), but also the syntax and stylistics. I would do the translation myself, but I'm very busy. It needs to be done for all candidates. Best regards, --Mikołka 13:30, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for helping to Promote the 2011 Board Election
I knew the localization needed to happen, but had no clue how to actually do it. I see you've come along and done it for me! I love wikis. Thank you. --PromoteElection2011 17:50, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'm glad I could help :) I think that Voter Guide is a great idea. It might be very useful and encouraging people to vote. --Mikołka 21:30, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
[edit] What is the central location?
Dear Mikołka, Nice to meet you. My name is Akaniji, an English-Japanese translator. I 'm in difficult to translate the words "the central location" of Make a Voter Guide in Template:PromoteElection. Would you tell me the meaning or examples of "the central location"? Regards. --Akaniji 22:42, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late response. "The central location" is any high-traffic page, like the main page or wiki's talk pages (e.g. Wikipedia's village pump). Sincerely, Mikołka 18:59, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

- Thank you for the answer. I see. --Akaniji 12:03, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Translation
Hello. This is a message for all translators so sorry if it's already done. Thanks for your translation. Please note that this year's guidelines has changed, specifically this section that forbids all kind of comments in the voting page. Regards, -- Dferg 08:43, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Founder/Co-founder
Hi Mikołka,
I'm actually not working with the Fundraiser this year, so I'm not sure how they'll be referring to Jimmy. You probably want Megan Hernandez, the Head of the Fundraiser. :) Philippe (WMF) 18:46, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you for your help with board election translations
Hi! As member of this year's board election committe I would like to give you this barnstar for your help with the translations of the board election pages into Polish. It was very much appreciated! Jon Harald Søby 13:36, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Change in translations
Hi, and thank you for your activity with fundraiser translations so far!! I have one small request to make: We had to change three of the appeals; the change is the same in all of them, and the replacement text is quite short, so I don't want to e-mail people just to fix that, and that's why I'm asking you instead. It would be great if you could do the following fixes in Polish:
- Jimmy Letter 002
- Kaldari Letter (remember the change from 420 million to 422 million)
- Alan Letter
Since these are small changes you don't have to go through the cycle of having it proofread and everything, unless you are unsure about the translation. Thanks in advance.

Teraz będę zaglądał i uaktualniał. A przy okazji, wybacz proszę, że to tłumaczenie jest takie same jak na twojej stronie :). Pozdrawiam, Przemub 16:00, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- I tak mi się zdawało, ale lepiej było się upewnić ;). Przemub 16:18, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] SOPA blackout message
Hi Mikołka! It would be great if you could also translate the title "English Wikipedia anti-SOPA blackout", so it can be created as its own page. :-) Many thanks, PeterSymonds (talk) 16:25, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- Eh, niewyspany jestem :) Przykuta 11:18, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] A barnstar for you!
Hi! I just want to thank you and give you this barnstar for your help with the translation of the 2011 fundraiser! The fundraiser was the best we ever had, both in terms of the amount we collected and in terms of number of translations. We couldn't have done either one without the help we got from you and other translators. If you are interested, we made a report, which has some statistics about the translations.
And: I have one more request, and that is that you take this survey. You may have got an e-mail about it, and if you did, please ignore this. But if you didn't it would be great if you would take this survey too, so we can learn to improve the translation experience.
Again, thanks for your help with translations – you're awesome! Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 14:27, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
