[edit] Admin Abuse

Oscar, A group of editors and admins refuse to allow a balance of material and links. Gamaliel, Robert McClenon, Jpgordon, JamesMLane, and a few others now own the pages. Any attempts to modify the page is met by thier gang edits. They allow only links to pro kennedy sites, none to negative sites regardless of the wealth of content they may provide. They push their pov on all of the Kennedy pages. It's because of editors and admins like these that Wikipedia is doubted as a source. ie; the New York Times published policy against Wiki as a source. The group refuses to agree to consensus when it is against them. I've now been blocked by Jpgordon in an abuse of admin priv. My act was not vandalism, it's simply not agreeing with their one sided pov. I am not willing to endure any more arb or mediation. These guys are out of control. 24.147.103.146 05:45, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WMF page

Hi, Now I found the WMF Home translated on February[1] but not uploaded to the site ;-X After Foeke finished it, this is left almost two months. And as you know, there have been many things ... the site was renewed and big news have come. Would you add necesarry changes to Foeke's translation and upload them (Home itself and news-nl template with Yahoo! hosting), cheers. --Aphaia | Translate Election | ++ 19:02, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for your participation to Election translation. I am very grateful. We will be able to prepare some documens in the early of this week so I thank you for your cooperation in advance ;-) If you have a time, would you like to care for WQ2 (it lacks Table of Content in netherlands so it can't be released currently) and WMF Home renewal? Cheers, --Aphaia | Translate Election | ++ 09:27, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

picking up on my duties again, i will certainly do my best aphaia :-) and see to it tomorrow, ok? oscar 00:16, 10 May 2005 (UTC) (if you can provide me with more specific linx, that would certainly help as to the work to be done...)

Dank u wel! Please give a look to Translation requests/WQ/2#/Nl:. Translation is almost done but we lack some important pages like

[edit] Hallo en verzoek

Hoi Oscar!

[edit] Request for interwiki coordination

As Wikipedia grows, maintenance of interwiki links gets more demanding. This has everything tot do with the equation k = n * ( n - 1 ), in which k equals the number of interwiki links for one article, and n equals the number of languages in which an article appears in a given project. It can be explained as articles in n languages, each with n-1 links to all other languages.

As soon as n > 10, the value of k will be greater than 100. Any error in one of the k interwiki links will make automatic (interwikibot) maintenance difficult. The bot will stop, and the operator needs to sort things out manually, or ignore the interwiki links for the given article, thus leaving the errors.

One of the factors contributing to this problem are shortcomings of the current interwikibot, that will first add all interwiki links, and after that, present them one by one to the operator. A more advanced way would be to ask the user what to do at every interwiki that links back to a different article in the language the bot is running.

There are more technical problems that cause error propagation by interwikibots, but there is more to the problem than just the technical side.

Interwiki maintenance requires coordination between users and bot operators on every language of a project. An interwiki maintenance page on meta, where they can discuss and coordinate their work would be of great help. This page can include, but should not be limited to, warning files to be processed by other members, remarks concerning local interwiki formats, and requests for help solving specific interwiki problems.

Once such a page exists, it should be announced, so that people who want to contribute can join.

[edit] Election

Hello Oscar, sorry for late but now the election begins ;-) Would you like to translate Elections for the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation, 2005/En into Dutch either here or on a Dutch project and post the Dutch version to each local project? Thanks. --Aphaia | Translate Election | ++ 16:11, 30 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use

Thank you for the quick answer! But what do you mean by "generally"? In which cases is it accepted? Mschlindwein

Danielm pointed out the reasons, i am not aware of any exceptions. oscar 09:50, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hi,

thank you very much for the information. Until now, among the "big" wikipedias, only the english, french and italian accept fair use. I understand that the english do so, but the french and italian? It is really a pity... Fair use is not accepted in:

We do not accept it, but we will vote again in march 2006, and some new users want to see it adopted, while the "old" ones's maintain the idea of a really and totally free wikipedia. If other wikipedias decide not to accept it anymore it would boost the movement! Thanks! Mschlindwein

[edit] Macedonian Wiki

Hello, I would ask why I was "forbidden" to have a bureaucrat status on the Macedonian Wikipedia - Requests_for_permissions#Macedonian_Wikipedia. I had no idea that I had to inform the community for this (moreover, the Macedonian Wikipedia doesn't have much of a community). I enjoy the full support of the other 2 sysops, and I enjoy the support of one of the Serbian Wikipedia administrators Millosh, as well. In my 4 months activity on Wikipedia, I've made a great range of contributions, from editing and writing new articles, ordinary sysop work, translating the interface (we're waiting for it to be updated, 3 weeks have passed!), main page, templates etc. However, I've announced my request to become a bureaucrat here, so will you please let me be? :-) --FlavrSavr 11:32, 30 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Opheffing blokkade #2

[edit] Jcbbot

Oscar, sorry for the delay. I was hoping someone would say something. The only persons that care about it are away (as I've been lately) or non-interested in such a debate, so the discussion ended fruitless. Anyway, we shall turn to the previous state of acceptance, as I don't want to be pointed out as the unique person against it, otherwise we would need to stop other bots. IOW, I can't rely on the indifference of the community to delegate such a (disputed) responsability. If no one objects, consider my vote neutral, and grant the flag to the bot. Best regards, Nuno Tavares 01:18, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] SPAMMING problem

Hello oscar, this is Ruben from Armenian Wikibooks (temp. sysop). Someone is spamming the website from different IP addresses, so I cannot stop him/her. What should be done to stop this? (I clean up the page every time, but after 10 minutes, it's again filled with inappropriate content)

Thanks, Ruben.

hi ruben, this is a known spammer which i've seen before. his site http://www [dot] zya9 [dot] info has been blocked and possibly mentioned at the blacklist imho. do not despair, i know this vandal switches attention, so he/she will most probably not return in the near future (but i think blocking indefinitely may be better than 3 days btw), grtz, oscar 01:10, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
You see I didn't block him/her indefinitely, cause I thought someone may also use that IP address, cause it was owned by an ISP. Next time I'll block him/her indefinitely. Thanks for response. --Ruben

[edit] Semi-protection

I've left this message on your Meta page as well, but I wanted to make sure you got this. At Wikipedia:Semi-protection policy, a couple users and myself are attempting to gather consensus about a possible change in editing. So as not to keep the community out of the loop, we've been posting to user talk pages, which seems to have worked. If you can add your thoughts to the talk page, it would be greatly appreciated. We've gone over a few issues, ranging from perception of anti-wiki to time limits, and recycling pagemove code, so you might want to check out #Rehashing to get up to speed. Thanks in advance, Mysekurity 21:44, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] kl.wikipedia.org

Hi Angela, there has been some vandalism on the Main Page for kl.wikipedia.org, there is only one sysop there (Danny) and he does not seem to response. Could you lock the main page? It would still be possible to edit the page because it only contains a Template:Main Page. b. regards Quackor 15:08, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

I'm not too keen on protecting it since there are no active admins, and it would be off-putting to anyone who wants to develop this wiki. I've asked Danny to keep an eye on it since he's an admin there. I'll also ask Node-ue to watch it since he tries to monitor the inactive wikis. Angela 09:36, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Protection of the page of Bulgarian user The Engineer

Hello Angela, I saw your explanation on the talk page of user The Engineer in Bulgarian Wiki. Sorry if it is rude but you've used a weasel term in it: "... number of members ...". How big this number is and of which users you've got a complaint. There is the user Emil in a personal conflict with him, and The Engineer is accusing him in being backed by an administrator and a founder of Bulgarian Wiki - Petko (admin ID Потребител:5ko, "pet" means five in Bulgarian). While I cannot accuse user Petko, I can assure you that user Emil is having conflicts not only with The Engineer (even I had to recall my ambassador).

Please make clear statement based on what you went for removal of adminship of The Engineer, and protection of his pages. The Bulgarian Wiki community is too small to waste any editor, and is among those who lost editors instead of getting more onboard. Bulgarian Wiki also is decreasing its pace. Right now I am not asking to reinstate the admin access but protection without clear, verifyable explanation is not good.

[edit] Requested check of use of checkuser rights

Angela, Today I was kicked off and banned from the #Wikipedia IRC channel by Kelly Martin. If you want the details of why, I am quite willing to explain, but I don't believe it is central to the point at hand. I have reason to suspect that Kelly Martin may have used her checkuser rights in order to identify what account I was using on IRC #Wikipedia, as no one else was booted off the channel prior to my being booted. I've never identified my IRC nick with my Wikipedia nick prior to this incident. With 200+ users on the channel, such accuracy in booting me seems...suspect. I would like a check to be done to determine if Kelly Martin ran a checkuser request against my en.wikipedia.org ID "Durin". I believe in your role as a steward you are capable of running such a check. Thanks in advance, --Durin 21:22, 5 December 2005 (UTC) (cc: Daniel Mayer, Anthere)

  • You may ignore this request. It has been clarified to my satisfaction. --Durin 23:45, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] User wants sysop rights

This user made a request at the English Wikibooks about becoming an Admin on the Maori WB. Someone made the suggestion of forwarding this to a steward, so I thought I'd just let you know (if someone already hasn't). There doesn't seem to be much happening over at mi.WB, so I'm not sure what you can do. --Lord Voldemort 15:15, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

Asking on Requests for permissions would be better than asking any steward directly. --Angela 00:08, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] fa.wikisource.org

Hi, I've been trying to set up a Persian (fa) subdomian for Wikisource. I read your response to a similar request for another language and contacted Brion via the online form. I haven't heard back in 2-3 weeks. I also filed a bug report here, no reaction so far. The project satisfies the conditions for a new Wikisource language (more here). I'd appriciate it if you could expediate things, it would be cool if we could start in 2005 (at least in name). Kaveh 14:18, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

Have you tried email the Wikitech mailing list with this request? There should be someone there who can help. --Angela 00:08, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Translation of Interface into Bahasa Melayu (Malay Language)

Hi Angela, I have just translated fully the interface for the Malay language Wikipedia. Although the language was started on 12 August 2003, the interface was only partially translated.

I am unable to understand the guidelines given in MediaWiki localization. How do I go about making a patch and then submit? — PM Poon 21:04, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Are you an admin on that wiki? If so, translating using the MediaWiki namespace would be a quicker way of doing this. Do you have a way of getting files from CVS? It's hard to explain how to do this when I don't know what system you're using. Angela 00:08, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] test links regarding Interwiki map

  • Hallo Angela! I found the following prefixes for wiki's at Wikicities at Interwiki map:
Wikicities:, CreaturesWiki:, FinalFantasy, MozCom:, WikiFur:
  • If bugzilla:04285 – "provide accessibility of Wikipedia's sister projects trough wikipedia: interwiki prefix"
would be implemented one could reach wikicities:furry: (or at least with wikicities:furry:Main Page), wikicities:games: (or at least with wikicities:games:Main Page) and all other Wikicities wiki's. Now these links generate "Bad title's". The only need to add Interwiki's would be to make them shorter. Bests regards Gangleri | Th | T 23:53, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Please, Mega Troll possibility needs to be looked at here

I am coming to you because there is nowhere else to go with this. I fear a mega troll has been able to so firmly entrench himself within wikinews with meatpuppets and sockpuppets that he has obtained virtual control of the site. Now he is attempting to expand his power into Wiktionary. [3]. He simply uses his authority and extreme time availability to wear down and force contributors who are in his way off the site. He has also managed to drive a wedge between Admins and non-admins (basically forming a club-like clique among admins) to the point where a reasonable Rfda; [4] fails with 6 admins opposing and 9 non-admins supporting the Rfda. Amgine's dedication toward prioritizing group loyalty is manifest with this edit of his; "Your approach to Wikinews, in my opinion, is focused on articles. This is a common approach, but probably not the most valuable. I suggest you reconsider that Wikinews is not about articles, but about developing and maintaining an online community; the articles are secondary. - Amgine / talk 14:53, 23 October 2005 (UTC)". Amgine also uses multiple signatures leading to different sites and one that leads nowhere.

The administrative abuses are historical fact and are listed below and although the "troll" accusation is based on circumstantial evidence; I am also showing it at the bottom. The section below is from [5]

  • Regarding Amgine's activities as an administrator for en.wikinews, I have checked and double checked the information/links below and find the statements accompanying them to be true. Amgine abuses administrative authority consistently and has done so for at least 6 months. His user page comments even show he has a troll-like connection as an administrator with the project[6] as he openly announces that he has "left the project" while being the most active in terms of conflicts and blockings[7]; acting as a foreman or "boss" rather than in a collaborative fashion.
  • Here are the examples of administrative abuse. Amgine has had multiple long lasting disputes with many editors with Neutralizer being the most recent and intense. Amgine has not hesitated to abuse his admin powers by blocking/punishing editors like Neutralizer who disagree with him; even though wikinews guidelines clearly state that an admin should NOT block an editor with whom they are having a dispute (they should, instead, allow a different admin. to apply any necessary blocks to that editor). It now seems that the wikinews contributors can not get rid of Amgine no matter how hard they try; Amgine is able to deflect and explain away his misdeeds in a fashion that puts Shakespeare's "Artful Dodger" to shame. You may expect that he will become increasingly accusatory and employ vicious attack methods to get what he wants. Re Amgine; its a lot easier to get him in power than to get him out of power. Fair Warning !
  1. Amgine displayed his arrogance by summarily rejecting the resolution, suggestions of a mediator, Ilya (a wikinews Bureaucrat) after a mediation. "I do not accept your suggestion that I limit my administrative privilege use either to "vandalism or very clear violations of objective policies only, and to explicitly let some other admin deal with Neutralizer" or "submit a self-de-admin request." [8]
  2. Dan100's list.[9] of Amgine's "bullying and poor behaviour" (Dan100 is an admin.[10] in good standing at wikinews).
  3. Apparent vendetta blocks:
A shows 4 of the spurious blocks Amgine levied against Neutralizer which were all later rescinded when other admins got involved [11].
B shows the last block against Neutralizer done after Amgine and he clearly were in conflict
02:13, 6 November 2005 Amgine blocked "User:Neutralizer" with an expiry time of 6 months
  4. Admin abuse; blocking Ed Brown for 1 month [12] 04:27, 11 December 2005 Amgine blocked "User:Edbrown05" with an expiry time of 1 month ; Amgine soon withdrew that block as he claimed a "software problem" had been the cause of the unjustified block. This time selection of 1 month for a long standing good contributor like Edbrown shows an abusive use of blocking
  5. talk page blanked and frozen by Amgine ( in the middle of ongoing disputes with this same person) [13] This is especially interesting as he did it just one hour after the talk page was made to prioritize the question of whether Amgine and another admin. are the same person.[14] As you can see below (6); Amgine has no problem accusing others of being sockpuppets but when he stands accused? Hell; just delete the evidence.
  6. More Disruption by Amgine; not assuming good faith:
Amgine accused vonbergm of being a sockpuppet; "I do not have reason to believe you are not a sockpuppet."[15]
Just a few days ago he accused Edbrown of being a sockpuppet[16]
Additional "Troll" indicators
1. Enigma = Amgine backwards

http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/enigma •nig•ma (-ngm) KEY NOUN: One that is puzzling, ambiguous, or inexplicable. A perplexing speech or text; a riddle. Anything that arouses curiosity or perplexes because it is unexplained, inexplicable, or secret: conundrum, mystery, perplexity, puzzle, puzzler, riddle. please stop discussing the case here, instead do it at the project itself, where a discussion is already taking place. thx, oscar 13:55, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Respectfully, the discussion at the project does not address this issue (administrator troll) at all and, in fact, this discussion would not be allowed on the project. As requested, I will not be bothering you with this anymore; however, I do think you may wish to have a look at the item below before dismissing my concerns. Dario,Oscar,Angela; Okay; if you folks want to ignore/deflect/not take seriously this alert; then I must accept that. Because of your positions as Stewards, I expect you are more committed/dedicated to the projects than I am.But I know I did my best to deal with this matter; and it's quite apparent you did your best not to deal with it. [edit] recatting Wiktionary category

Hoi,
You started the recategorisation of articles attributed to the Wiktionary category.. Why did you do this ?? There were many articles that should have gone to the new category as well .. GerardM 18:56, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

recatting wiktionary category?? i added a new category for UW-related articles instead!?
dear gerard, my idea was, as you could have seen, to add the articles specifically about Ultimate Wiktionary to a corresponding new cat Category:Ultimate Wiktionary, which is categorized within the Wiktionary cat btw, hoping to have done you (and others) a favor in fact (everything concerning UW is brought together imho). if i happen to have overseen certain articles that also belong in there, you are free to add other articles to this cat of course. oscar 00:36, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] duidelijk

Groet, --Walter 12:14, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

vanzelfsprekend, not a shadow of a doubt about it in my mind :-) groetjes, oscar 23:34, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] regels voor stewards

RE hier graag

(Requests_for_bot_status/Archive/January_2006#it:Utente:Paulatz_bot).

[edit] nl.wiki vandal

Hallo, this morning on it.wikipedia we had some heavy vandalism from an IP assigned to a high school in the Netherlands (Deventer). The IP has a really long blocklog on nl.wiki so I wrote to the "abuse" address and had a nice e-mail exchange with a person in the IT dept of the school. I offered him to contact somebody from nl.wikimedia and have sort of an informal conference with their students about open-content and wikimedia projects, I think this could be nice, instead of fighting vandals why not "brain wash" them :-D If you think this is a nice idea and somebody of nl.wikimedia has time to follow this please mail me on civvi68 c/o gmail.com  :-) Ciao --Civvi 13:24, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bureaucraat verzoek

Meursault2004 09:02, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Adminship

[edit] Admin Abuse

Dear Oscar,

I would like to ask your help about two admins' discretionary actions in Turkish Viki. The article in question is Fethullah Gulen Turkish version. One of the admins Citrat is deleting and vandalizing the article without discussion and misusing his priviliges by thereatening me with block, deleting and distorting my contributions on the Village Pump, etc. To make the life easier to him, another one, who with minimal community support, blocked my account for no-legitimate reason. You can check my contributions to see that, I have no violations of the regulations at all. I was wondering if you could look at the case quickly and help me to unblock my account. How can I file my complaint about them regarding their misuse of admin priviliges. In Turkish Wiki, it does not look to be possible and reasonable. You probably remember that I made another request from you regarding the same admin Dbl2010. He is taking the issue very personally and now he blocked my account.

Thanks in advance. Rgulerdem 07:24, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi, oscar. He is blocked for 3 days by violating 3 different main rules. He was already warned very seriously last week. Detailed block reasons have been placed on his message page. Feel free to contact any admin in that issue. And I am also sorry that this issue is coming back to MEta all the time. However, unfortunately, he prefers to comlain to stewards, instead using our internal complain page first. --Dbl2010 08:33, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
Dear Oscar, these two admins are definitely misusing their priviliges as documented above. I have no chance to raise the problem in Turkish Viki as 2 (sometimes 3) of 5 active admins are acting together. As I gave my log list, there is no violation of Viki rules. If there is, the admin posted the note above should be able to prove it.
What has happened is this: I started a straw poll and announced in the village pump. He was not around for months and suddenly right after it, he wrote a note and explicitely attacked me personally by calling me as a troll because I am starting a straw poll and he asked the people for not voting... I replied back implying that he is closer to being a troll instead of me. Then he made up some rules and claimed that I am violating the rules although it is not the case.
I would like you please consider removing their admin priviliges as they are not letting ordinary editors edit. After my 3 days block, admin Citrat changed the article to a version he likes without a discussion. It was the version supported by community for a long time as can be seen from history of the page. I do not think that it is ethical. He is deleting my edits without discussion, treatening me with block, and reverting, and distorting my edits even in Village Pump, acting as a side and also an admin at the same time, etc. as documented above. In the note, the one which Citrat was trying to delete, I posted to Village Pump, I was asking the community to contribute to the page about Gulen which is the article in question.
Again I would like you please consider seriously removing their admin priviliges as they are not letting ordinary editors edit. The mechanism in the Turkish Viki is not working to deal with this discretionary actions and misuse of priviliges problems because of the number of admins and attitudes of some of them.
Best, Rgulerdem 17:37, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
And Citrat is still reverting the contribution by other users in contrast to the community consensus. Could you please do something for it. Thanks in advance. Rgulerdem 06:25, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
I just wanted to let you know that, I wrote to Angela about the current situation. Since I did not get a response from you yet, I thought you should be busy. Thanks anyways... Rgulerdem 22:09, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi oscar, since this problem havent come into solution after 5 months almost, I requested from Tr community to respond and say their thoughts about his behaviour. I especially invited all active sysops. So depending on the community response, we will see what we can do. Here is the open letter if you may want to see I also replied a little at Angela's page. Cheers. --Özgür 22:51, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Dear Oscar, I would appreciate if you could have a chance to look at my explanations on Angela's page too. You may not need some of my translations as I know that you know some Turkish. I would not prefer to post this message here after my last note above but I realized that the admin in question is discussing the issue on both pages. The open letter he sounds like he is informing you about is actuallly given at the link I already provided above. Best. Rgulerdem 00:57, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

i am sorry, but this is definitely up to the bureaucrats on en.wikipedia (see Requests for permissions: "If your wiki has a bureaucrat, please use the requests for adminship page on that wiki instead."). oscar 22:06, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lister over gårder i Oppland (Lists of farms in Oppland)

Meta wiki - now I'll have to figure out what that is...

Articles which parallel a Norwegian Wikipeda series on Lists of farms in Oppland have been proposed for deletion; the Norwegian series is no: Kategori:Lister over gårder i Oppland. I believe that such material has both historical and genealogical value, but as always will support the position of the Wikimajority. If you have an opinion for or against deletion, I’d appreciate your commentary on en:Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lists of farms in Oppland. You’re welcome either in favor or against deletion. Tusen takk - Williamborg

[edit] my bureaucrat and sysop flags

Hello, It appears that you removed my bureaucrat and sysop flags on EN Wikinews by mistake. MrM was the one who wanted to be desysoped, as he was not aware that bureaucrats could not desysop people he asked me first. He used the link to my talk page as proof that he really wanted to be desysopped. I would very much appreciate if you could make me a bureaucrat again. I have also asked our other two bureaucrats, but they are both mostly inactive(the main reason I am a bureaucrat :) ). --Cspurrier 02:12, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

i apologize, it was a misunderstanding... in the mean time i see that n:User:IlyaHaykinson has restored your rights at 05:43 this morning. my mistake, sorry for the inconvenience! oscar 11:25, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] desysoping

hi,

i asked about a week ago to desysop an admin on hebrew wiki. i was advised by troll rafaim to ask you to do it. here is the link to the vote and to his user page:he:משתמש:מלח השמים, he:ויקיפדיה:ביטול הרשאה/מלח השמים. only 50% of the votes are needed to desysop an admin. "abstain" votes are not counted in our wiki. Gilgamesh 10:50, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

as the pages you refer to contain almost exclusively text in hebrew (which i cannot read), i find it difficult to comply with this request right away. is there any english version available? greetz, oscar 12:37, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
this page: he:ויקיפדיה:ביטול הרשאה/מלח השמים is written in english. Gilgamesh 12:40, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] De-adminship because of violation of "administration ethics"

How do you think, if an administrator violates so-called "administration ethics", but does not violate any Wikipedia rule, may administration privileges be dropped? --Jaroslavleff 16:23, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] li.wiktionary

[edit] Admin Madness for Afd...

Dear Sir, I am a governor of Beşikdüzü district in Turkey. I am a active user of wikipedia and I have strongly sported wiki project . I have started first and only official wikipedia campaign so far in Turkey . In all of my district schools has participated the campaign and sported it in last and this year. My teachers will write or translate100 articles for wikipedia abaout their branches and their pupils will write 10 article about their own interest. The campaign has got a strong sport from mass media. Such as public channel TRT radios, national newspapers (such as radikal, milliyet) and local newspapers has participated the campaign so far. And tr.wikipedia has got a acceleration in users and articles from last November. You can see it in statics figures. If you look at some my little remarks on tr wikipedia I will write them below for the safety of wikipedia I have some observations about tr.wikipedia are below:
