Inspire Campaign[edit]

Hi RomanSpa, I want to kindly encourage you to engage in a different way on the IdeaLab pages. I see you are visibly upset, angry, and insulted by this campaign. However I think that you are making a critical assumption which is simply not true: supporting and inviting women does not devalue, denigrate, or discriminate *against* men. There are many (in fact most) men who are honest, ethical, kind, decent, supportive, reasonable, etc. I humbly consider myself one of them. There are on the other hand, some men (a minority) who are hostile, offensive, belittling, aggressive, etc. I assume you are not one of them. There are also environmental factors which have nothing to do with gender--these range from the aesthetics of the site, to its user interface, to its policies, or its governance that can have subtle but disparate impact on different groups. I want you to know that I value your contributions and do not think in any way that this campaign lessens them. So, please, before you go on feeling aggrieved or insulted, remember that this campaign is simply about inviting more people and it is no way about blaming, shaming, minimizing, or devaluing those we already have.
