Renaming policy

I would like to have the above vandalism-only accounts renamed so that I could have the accounts. My Wikimedia username has been "Roosa" for a long time, and I'd like to continue using it when the shared login (SUL) comes. The accounts listed above are most likely created by one and same vandal and have been used only for vandalism. fr:Utilisateur:Roosa, en:User:Roosa and wikisource:fi:Käyttäjä:Roosa and the advisorywiki one are my accounts. --Roosa _(Talk) 14:30, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

You may want to use Requests for username changes for Meta and wikis with no bureaucrats

Commons has bureaucrats and a request area for username changes, similarly, so do Spanish and Chinese. et,se, and sv all have bureaucrats to perform those functions locally (though I don't know if they have a username change request page. If so, they're not interwiki'd to my knowledge) ~Kylu (u|t) 20:52, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

When SUL comes, the account with the most edits will get the username on all wiki's. You don't have to worry about vandalism only accounts, as they generally only have a small number of edits. You would get the username as well on those wiki's. Effeietsanders 10:59, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Error on Planet Wikimedia?

Hi Roosa, you just added blog.shankbone.org to the Planet Wikimedia aggregator at my request, but I think something went wrong. It's not pulling anything in from the blog, and the link to "David Shankbone" is not going anywhere..clicking on it has no effect. It may be an error in the information I provided you, I'm not sure I submitted it in the right format. (Maybe the link needs to point directly to the RSS feed, like http://blog.shankbone.org/rss2.aspx ?) Anyway, thanks for adding it, and double thanks if you can make it work right!! Planet Wikimedia

Hey Roosa - first of all thanks for making those changes on request. Just a little problem - there seems to be a HTML error with my listing there. Viewing the page source, it contains a <a title="">User:Giggy</a> - a broken anchor tag, basically. I think this would also explain the fact that no posts I've made since the update you made have shown up on the page. For the record, the link should appear in HTML as <a href="http://giggyisms.blogspot.com/" title="User:Giggy">User:Giggy</a>. Would you be able to fix this? Fundraiser 2010/Call for translations

Hello, my name is Sam and I am working for the Wikimedia Foundation during the 2010 Fundraiser. My job is to be the liaison between the Finnish community and the Foundation. This year's fundraiser is intended to be a collaborative and global effort, we recognize that banner messages that perform well in the United States don't necessarily translate well, or appeal to international audiences. I'm contacting you as I am currently looking for translators who are willing to contribute to this project, helping to translate and localize messages into Finnish and suggesting messages that would appeal to Finnish readers on the Fundraising Meta Page. Please let me know if you'd be interested in helping with this project, and add your feedback to the proposed messages as well!
