Translation Update

I want to thank you for your help translating throughout this year's fundraiser. The fundraiser has greatly benefited from all your contributions. Currently, the Kartika, Liliaroja, Abbas and Joan Gomà appeals need to be translated, as we are running appeals from editors. You can find all translation requests at the translation hub on meta and you can follow the progress of the fundraiser in real time by tracking the fundraiser statistics. It is important to check the Core Messages as many languages still need updating. Also if you haven't already, you can subscribe to the translators-l mailing list for all new requests and major changes. Translator, We need you!

Dear Savh,

You have helped us in previous years with translations and for that we are most grateful. Now we turn towards the 2011/12 fundraiser. It may seem forever away, but work has already begun getting everything ready to go. This year we want to have landing pages covering as many countries in as many languages as possible.

Right now, we want to figure out who is interested in translating for the fundraiser. This year we're hoping to have more of a solidified "core" group of translators that we can count on to have work done by a few key dates, but we'd also welcome help from people who are willing to just help out when they can.

Off-topic page for the WCI

Dear Savh, the alchololic habit in the youth was indeed off-topic, but it was a submission for the WikiConference India 2011. I've restored it, renamed it to "WikiConference India 2011/Submissions/Alchololic habit in the youth" and placed it in the category for off-topic submissions. Coimbatore Meetups

Heya,

We normally have a shortcut on the English wikipedia [where almost all out other meetup pages are]. All of them there are in the Wikipedia namespace, and I did the same here. If I made a mistake, do let me know, and also please move it to the required namespace.

Template

How can I make them behave like a template? I need them as a template. I don't want to use {{:(page name)}} or {{subst::(page name)}} because then it includes all the other stuff that are tagged <noinclude> and </noinclude>. Upload of images

Hi you recently deleted my image uploaded:

It was special football kit of FC Bunyodkor club made by me. I assume you have deleted it because there was no information about image.

Please help my how i can upload this again with all necessary meta data about image.I could find simple example how does it upload work. Or can you upload this image. I cannot upload any image because, because of inputing of necessary image meta data.

Request

Hello Savh, can you delete these pictures from Armenian Wikipedia that violate copyrights or notify admin about it. Many of them have a template for a very long time, but not all admins are very active and therefore they are not deleted.

Eligibility

Actually, it appears they edited with an old account, sulutil:Blue Marble. Which has the 600 edits before - does policy allow for MS to be eligible to vote with his other account taken into consideration? Addihockey10 03:29, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

He shouldn't be penalized for simply creating a new account rather than going through the painful process of a global rename. It is pretty clear that this is the same user, so it makes sense to just say he is eligible and leave it at that. Ajraddatz (Talk) 16:11, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

It makes sense to explain that on the template talk page to avoid such confusions. I only saw the block on commons and no one on meta, and if someone only sees the account name and checks the eligibility, then the account just isn't eligible. So it isn't clear at first sight and who knows about any old account names of users? It isn't even posted on the user page. In my opinion, eligibility should be obvious to everyone and not just get clear, if someone looks on other user talk pages or in version histories. --Geitost ^diskusjon 16:32, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Ok, nowhere in the discussion had been a note that the old account has been locked and can't vote, so now it's another basis. In German elections, this account wouldn't be eligible and the user would have to get the old account unlocked just for the voting, because the bot which checks the eligibility would mark the account as not eligible automatically (and users would also complain about it). But because there isn't a bot automatically checking eligibilities here and the old account can't vote, I agree that then it's easier to do it without unlocking and just put a note about it. ;-) Greetings --Geitost ^diskusjon 17:06, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
