Peace Treaties in Art 30 x 30 Challenge[edit]

Dia duit/hi Smirkybec! I am Iñaki LL, a Wikipedian in residence at the San Telmo Museoa, Donostia-San Sebastián. We are holding the Peace Treaties in Art 30 x 30 Challenge in collaboration with Donostia-San Sebastián European Capital of Culture 2016 with a view to fostering a culture of peace and based on its Peace Treaty exhibitions at different city locations. In keeping with our inclusive and multicultural approach, we are intent on encouraging production in minority languages, such as Irish.

Still two weeks to join the challenge while enriching the WP in English/Irish with art-specific articles! We would really love to have all your good wikipedic and artistic know-how poured into this inspirational challenge :p The contest will reach its climax in an edit-a-thon we will be holding on July 9! Wikimedia diversity - What happened at the conference and how to follow up[edit]

We are messaging you now because you signed up as an ambassador for Wikimedia Diversity Conference 2017. We are sharing this message far and wide, so apologies in advance if you are receiving this message twice.

During the conference, we dedicated a full afternoon to discussing the strategic direction and what it means for the work on diversity in the Wikimedia movement. Compiling the outcomes of those conversations, we summarized the key problems and solutions identified, and we created a summary statement. But the conversation is far from over! We still need to hear from diversity ambassadors: (1) what does working for diversity mean at your local context?; (2) what are the needs that should be addressed; (3) what resources are relevant for these identified needs?

We know that diversity gains meaning in context, and this is why we need to hear every voice. Please take a few minutes to go over to the diversity conversation page and add your comments.

Come join Wikimedia CEE Spring 2018/CEE Women again! <3[edit]

Hello, Rebecca! You receive this message because last year you took part in the CEE Women challenge. This year the challenge repeats, and it will take longer: from now until the end of May (about 10 weeks).

Please, feel invited to visit the page Wikimedia CEE Spring 2018/CEE Women and join the challenge again. Help have more notable women from Central and Eastern Europe in more language versions globally. We again have a list of ideas for biographic articles of women from all over the CEE.

What is different this year is that now you can set your own minimal number of articles as a measure of your challenge (i don't advise you to challenge yourself with more than 70 ;) 10-20 is perfect!). Also, you can receive as a prize a postcard not only from Bulgaria (as in 2017), but also from a list of countries from CEE and around the world. Apart of being a receiver, you can also opt to be a sender of postcards from your country to some of the other participants! That would also be awesome!

[Wikipedia & Education User Group] Updates: November 2018[edit]

Greetings,

Integrating Wikimedia with education is a powerful strategy for the outreach of Wikimedia projects. Realising this concept, a group of leaders promoted this and formed the Wikipedia Education Collaborative. After some time, this evolved to become a user group, officially recognised by the Affiliations Committee in June 2018. The user group had its first board elections earlier in September. In the process to formalise activities and give a shape the user group for long-term sustainability, we are now revamping our processes. Thanks for supporting us during incubation stages, we are now inviting you to formally join the user group by following the instructions on the members' page. Being a member will allow you to be a part of this wonderful collaboration and also do interesting stuff.

Wikimania Ambassador[edit]

Hi!

I noticed that you have signed up as a Wikimedia Diversity Ambassador, after the Diversity Conference held in Stockholm 2017. In August this year, Wikimania will take place in Stockholm, and our goal is to use Ambassadors to reach out to local communities, to spread the news about the conference and the outcomes afterwards. The conference theme (still to be announced) will connect closely to diversity. Hello Rebecca,

My name is Emmanuel also known as Kinvidia on all wikis, and I lead a wiki community in Ghana called the Global Open Initiative Foundation.

We (myself and my team) have embarked on a research focused on the recommendations; Ensure Equity in Decision Making, and Invest in Skills and Development. I was wondering if we could have a meeting where you could share your thoughts and experiences regarding capacity building, as a member of a different community. We believe your experiences will give us insight and also give us perspective on how we could implement these recommendations. Also, being a member of The Capacity Exchange team, I believe you will be able to help us with thoughts and suggestions for capacity building, especially for young communities like ours from Africa.

Pilot Enrollment: Equity Landscape Metrics & Dashboard[edit]

Hi @Smirkybec:

Thank you for your interest in piloting the Wikimedia Movement Data Landscape dashboard and metrics. Through this small pilot we will be completing pre-beta testing of these new metrics and tool functions. We intend to gather feedback from community stakeholders on the data elements and dashboard functions for improvements before launching an initial public dashboard. In order to proceed, we must ensure that all pilot participants meet each of the eligibility requirements:

Have an applicable use case during the pilot period (February - March 2022),
Commit to engage during the pilot period, and
Agree to sign a data non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for early data access.

If you meet these requirements, you are now invited to next steps for enrolling in the pilot. In order to help us align virtual sessions with your use case interests and to send you the required NDA, we need you to complete a google survey to share your contact details. Use of the data collected by this survey form will be governed by our published privacy statement. Please complete the survey at your earliest convenience, and before the end of day January 23, 2022 to ensure needed turn-around time for the pilot’s start in February. Please also note that we will not be able to associate contact information shared via the google survey with your username we are communicating through here, so we will not be able to know if you have signed up and will switch to contacting pilot participants via the email they share in that survey submission. Thus there will not be further reminders beyond a note at the start of the meta consultation period in February.
