Goals of WMF:

1) create content in many languages
2) provide to the public for free

sum of all human knowledge:

a) NPOV
b) adderssing everyone's concerns
c) covering all topics - not just stuff of interest to westerners

How Wikimedia projects could help:

• Building a collection of local African knowledge
• Making it available to African people

Tools, cd roms in libraries, audio content, free wiki engine

WMF can do:

a) promote projects in developing countries - 
b) contact with researchers, educationsl system, immigration services
c) 
d) financial support for special projects
e) Lobbying for encoding issues
f) hiring editors in chief
g) local language wikinews
