Threat of Legal Action [edit]
A long history of threatening with legal action and distructive editing. His actual work is to import his problems about his infinite block given by the Dutch Arbcom to other wikis. I think this situation is undesirable and maybe a global block would fit. Reference 1 reference 2 reference 3 reference 4: Dutch ArbCom decision for infinite block MMaerkk 00:12, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- The point of the statement - requested by nl:Arbcom, btw - is to show that these so-called problems do not exist. One cannot import non-existing problems. Certainly, the confirmation that no legal action exists can hardly be seen as a legal threat. (User may furthermore not be aware that one of the functions of meta is to try and solve conflicts when one of the projects fails to do so, but that is beside the point.) Meanwhile, user uses this opportunity to attempt and take revenge for his own block on Wikisage. Guido den Broeder 00:21, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- Don't manipulate the facts please. I cooporated to clean your imported problems from nl-Wiki to the Dutch Wikimedia Chapter, I didn't took revenge. MMaerkk 00:28, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- You teamed up with two other users that have also been trying to sabotage Wikisage; I witnessed the canvassing on IRC. Things on nl:Wikimedia will clear up soon enough. Meanwhile, I suggest that you wait for a response instead of taking matters into your own hand. I will of course abide by any decision by the proper authorities, and report back to nl:Arbcom for new instructions if the statement gets removed. Guido den Broeder 00:37, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

In this case i will say: try to solve your problems there where they started. In good faith, GdB is gonna remove his posting from his talkpage, and you can stop stalking on meta. Can we close it as solved here on meta? If booth of you try to continue this dispute here, it could be a reason for a block, and we don´t want it or not? THX --WizardOfOz talk 00:43, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for this solution. I'd hope Guido removes his controversial text from this wiki and won't place the text on other wikis where it's not belonging, and I won't speak a word about it after removing. MMaerkk 00:47, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- I consider my problem with MMaerk solved with his indef block elsewhere. I see no need to block him here, provided he stops removing text from my talk page. The post itself has nothing to do with him, but relates to the current status of my nl:Wikipedia account. User is not involved there. nl:ArbCom requested a public statement by me, and since I cannot post on nl:Wikipedia this is the logical next best place. The text is not controversial; nobody has objected to its content.
- Now, since my post is not vandalism, this is clearly not the right place to decide over its inclusion. But as long as we're here, a comment by Mike would be welcome. Guido den Broeder 00:56, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

- For the information: My block on his own website - Wikisage - "I consider my problem with MMaerk solved with his indef block elsewhere" is setted after my cooporation to remove that text from the Dutch chapter. Please give references of your statements and as I said, please don't manupulate the facts. MMaerkk 01:01, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- @Mike: I'd like to see a objective investigation, maybe you should contact the Dutch Arbcom for a veracious conclusion. MMaerkk 01:06, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

I´m still waiting GdB, and as i can see MMaerkk, your still stalking. Can we make it on my way as written above? --WizardOfOz talk 01:07, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- In response to off-wiki events I have quit all foundation projects, so my talk page is now empty. I needed the statement there for just a moment anyway; a block prevented me from removing it sooner. Regards, Guido den Broeder 00:23, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Multi-IP vandal on several projects [edit]
Last days an user (or his bot) is modifying pages with erroneous code, and not good faith/purpose.
You'll can observe that on Global user contributions for 209.62.94.50.
He has used other IPs (Proxies?):
- 200.194.102.114 [cross-wiki-contribs] — IP info — robtex — [gblock]
- 203.144.160.249 [cross-wiki-contribs] — IP info — robtex — [gblock]
- 201.234.80.3 [cross-wiki-contribs] — IP info — robtex — [gblock]
He doesn't include spam links but only things like <a href=.*> </a>. I have included that on ca:MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist (where, obviously I'm sysop).

- Yes we know the XRumer bot attack is happening, and earlier in the morning a developer blocked a lot of those via the server , but they keep popping up, some of the stewards are working with the developers to counter this, please try to report know IP's doing this to here atleast, and we will try to get them blocked via server (temporarily atleast) though Global blocking implementation would have helped us a lot...--Cometstyles 08:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

- Attacks are more frequent, and on cawiki, I think we can ignore them. If you can add temporally this expression (
<a href=.*> </a>), ably we can block it. Otherwise "<a href= ..." is not allowed by MediaWiki, it never returns a link.

For info - Commons & en wp earlier too. Blocked by me here & on Commons & reported to Birdy & Drini via mail at the time. They were not coming up as Open Proxies but I think they probably are & Xrumer was my though too. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 12:53, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Related cross wiki vandalism IPs [edit]
I think this may be bot related. Commons had some strange edits about a week ago. Each edit was from a different IP but they were similar. The same pages have been vandalised today & I see similar activity on en wp.

Recurrent vandalism [edit]
Atsushi, Atsushi2, Atsushi3 [edit]
Recently there has been a Japanese User misusing his userpage on dozens of Wikipedia-editions for long texts in Japanese. If you check the Usernames "Atsushi", "Atsushi2", "Atsushi3" using the contribution tool [4], you see that he's is doing that for quite a long time now. He has been blocked on several languages, sometimes only his userpage because it seems he's only using that page for editing. His editing history on fr, just as an example how he spams recent-changes with this nonsense. Doing no "real" vandalism he might be considered as harmless, yet all this japanese text could also be copyvio material, as nearly noone, especially on the smaller Wikipedias might be able to check it. I have no idea how to deal with this rather unusual vandalism, but still think something should be done on a meta level to stop him. --Christian Günther 07:18, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Зукагой [edit]
This vandal, blocked indefinitely in ru.wp, yeaterday vandalized all lbe.wp pages, putting there an obschene attack statement about one female ru.wp sysop. I reverted all changes. Today, he returned and vandalized more pages. I am going to revert them as well, but he needs to be permablocked, since I am on holidays next week. lbe.wp does not have a sysop, I used to be a temporary sysop there, but my term expired.--Yaroslav Blanter 12:18, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Keith Bridgeman (AKA User:General Tojo) [edit]
- See also Viartis "Bad Book Spam warning" and General Tojo
Keith Bridgeman of London, England, known as General Tojo on English Wikipedia, has been spamming nearly every Wikipedia and POV pushing about Parkinson's disease since 2006. His web site, Viartis.net, has been globally blacklisted for quite some time but mentions of his Viartis books continue, with no connection to actual content. Those who stop him become the subject of harassment, stalking and libelous personal attacks which frequently require oversight.
Some examples of libelous personal attacks by Keith Bridgeman:
- WKNIGHT 94 RAPED MY SIX YEAR OLD SON
- WKNIGHT 94 IS A CONVICTED CHILD ABUSER
- WARNING : WNK-A-KNIGHT IS A KNOWN SEX OFFENDER
- GET YOURSELF A LIFE ADOLF YOU NAZI KUNT

- NIGGERS UNITE AGAINST FASCIST WHITE TRASH
- THIS PLACE IS FULLA WHITE FAGGOTS
- SORRY THEY ABOLISHED SLAVERY WHITE RACIST FAGGOT ?
- GET THIS KKK CUNT OUTA HERE
- Notice : an editor from English Wikipedia who was exposed for the sexual offences he has committed has been adding deceit and vandalism to this page solely out of resentmenet at his public exposure
Scanning this history page shows dozens or hundreds of oversighted edits from Bridgeman dating back to 2007.
The note below regarding Bridgeman's spamming has been added to numerous talk pages on numerous Wikipedias:
Bad Book Spam warning [edit]The vandal General Tojo is spamming Wikipedia by removing references and adding his books as the only reference. The books are nothing more than reprints of out of copyright sources, with spelling errors from the title page on forward (For example it is James McClymont, not MacClymont, and Gaspar Correia, not Correa, and Charles Edwards Lester, not Charles Lester Edwards). This article is one of his targets, please watch for removal of valid references and adding of the spam references by new users or IP's. The books spammed so far are:
