Wikimedia Boston / Wikimedia New England is the current working name for a plan to create a local Wikimedia chapter for New England and the Boston metropolitan area. This chapter is in a very early state of development, and new information will be added here as we learn it.

We're taking an example from our pioneering neighbors in New York City with Wikimedia New York City, and hope to cooperate with them and other US chapters in future through a Wikimedia United States Chapters Council.

We approved this temporary corps of vice presidents for the Wikimedia New England chapter-in-formation in April 2012:

Current Status

1. We still need to work on some sort of minimal bylaws, though we don't plan on getting legally incorporated anytime soon.
2. Ideas of any sort related to projects we could be organizing.

Interested Participants

Wikimedia New England is not going to have any membership restrictions based on geographical location. However, it will be difficult for people who live far away to participate in the Chapter.
